POSITION OVERVIEW:

Radar DDB Director, Community Engagement Position Standards

The Director, Community Engagement’s core competency is leadership through creative thinking. Both the client and agency teams look to the Director CE for leadership and ensuring that the agency is delivering on necessary expectations. As a senior agency team member, the Director CE is intimately involved in the development of the brand plan and providing overall direction to ensure the brand plan is implemented effectively. As well, the Director CE continually facilitates communication among senior agency, department and division managers to ensure that client issues and concerns are understood and addressed. Overall, the Director CE is accountable for client satisfaction & profitability. Within the agency, the Director CE also has an expanding role in social media education and championing integration between divisions.

Apprises management of emerging issues that may affect delivery, quality, or costs of projects.  Lead and set tone in presentations to client stakeholders.  Drive the proposal/planning process, including scheduling the process, facilitation of brainstorming meetings, securing/monitoring resources, creating a financial plan, creating overall vision/strategy, ensuring timely delivery of quality final proposal.  Participate strategically in the creative assessment by offering relevant insightful feedback.  Participate in client presentations of timelines, budgets and scope with Project Manager.  Determine project prioritization criteria.  Analyze client tracking information in order to evaluate effectiveness of campaigns and projects.  Be instrumental in new business development, both organic and net new; provide revenue security and revenue generation for assigned client(s) and general new business.  Document, negotiate, and secure all contractual agreements and sign-off from client (e.g., Retainer Agreements, Letters of Intent, Contracts, etc.).  Lead and set tone in presentations to client stakeholders.

 Identify, motivate and work with Supervisor, Community Engagement to lead the internal team, as well as 3rd party vendors, in a solution oriented and positive manner advocating teamwork and creativity.  Work with Accounting to conduct client credit checks and to establish client billing structure.  Invoice clients in an appropriate and timely manner working with the PM/Producer and Accounting; includes maintaining the BCR.  Develop accurate revenue forecasts according to profitability and growth objectives for the client to hit revenue goals for current and potential client roster.  Be the person ultimately accountable for meeting and ideally exceeding overall client strategic objectives.  Lead post project reviews.  Work with media to develop on line media strategy and specs on a per project basis.  Monitor staff moral and staff opportunities, and participate in new staff hiring.  Assist in planning documentation – strategic plan, competitive analysis, creative briefs, production briefs, proposal development and presentation, RFP response document and presentation, results reporting, meeting minutes, media specifications, competitive analysis, BCR and job dockets.  Accountable for all project write offs (overage).  Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when working with other staff.  Become knowledgeable about key agency departments, their requirements and their processes.  Exceed client satisfaction, specifically by meeting overall communication and strategic objectives and providing strong value-add to clients; maintain a strong and respectful relationship.  Proactively consult with key departments/divisions in order to meet timelines and budget on all projects.  Work closely with the team to produce a quality product on time and on budget.  Consistently work on building relationships with team members to cultivate mutual trust, respect and foster good working environment.  Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when working with internal staff and freelancers.  Work closely with management team in

determining the future direction of the company.  Build strong working relationships with counterparts in the Toronto office and within the overall DDB Worldwide network.  Act as key point of contact with projects from the Toronto office  Be cognizant of research techniques and resources and assist in assembling and reporting of secondary research findings.  Must be big picture, creative thinker, someone who sees the potential to take Radar DDB to the next level.  Continually seek system and technology improvements that will achieve better production results.  Network with industry contacts to keep current on emerging technologies and capabilities, ensuring staff are informed and knowledgeable in all emerging areas.  Demonstrates strong and proven client leadership and management skills.  Develop strategic vision and innovative ideas/solutions for assigned clients and Radar DDB.  Must be passionate, and have a working knowledge of Social Media and Web 2.0 technologies, including experience in marketing campaigns that employ them.  Mentor and provide career plan development of partner staff.  Must be a self starter who exhibits initiative and the ability to take an assignment, “run with it” with a minimum of hand-holding.

SKILLS: Computer Skills: - proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Keynote.

EXPERIENCE: Tourism industry experience and bilingual languages preferred for this current position.
