Mission Quadruplets Celebrating First Birthday (Mission, TX) The Ramirez’ family is singing four versions of happy birthday as they celebrate their quadruplets’ first year. It was a year ago Wednesday March 25 that Ester and Jesus Ramirez welcomed Jesus, Adrian, Fabian, and Ignacio into the world. The babies’ were born 1 minute apart at Mission Regional Medical Center. Jesus, the oldest weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces, Fabian, 3 pounds 6 ounces, Adrian 3 pounds 4 ounces, and Ignacio 2 pounds 10 ounces. All four were delivered after 32 weeks gestation. They were cared for by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mission Regional Medical Center. Today they are thriving and range in weight from 20 to 27 pounds. They are also on the verge of walking. All have very distinct personalities: Jesus, the oldest, mom says, “sleeps through the night and is very well behaved,” while Fabian is the “ringleader;” Adrian, “smiles and watches the others and is the most quiet,” while the youngest, “Ignacio is the most mischievous and has a temper.” As any new parent will tell you, the first year of a child’s life flies by fast, so you can imagine how the Ramirez’ must feel.

"It's been a challenge, I'm not going to say it hasn't been, but I wouldn't change a minute of it," said Ester Ramirez. “ We’ve had to make some changes like moving into a bigger house and hiring two nannies to help us take care of the babies because both me and my husband work.” So when does Ester get her alone time? “When I go to work, I get a break,” she smiles.
