To Whom It May Concern, The Rutgers University chapters of Phi Sigma Rho-National Engineering Sorority and Sigma Phi Delta-Premier International Engineering Fraternity would like your assistance in hosting the first ever Mr. Engineer competition at Rutgers University in March 2009. The event is geared towards bringing the engineering community at Rutgers together while raising funds and awareness for the Embrace Kids Foundation. Hundreds of families in New Jersey and thousands nationwide are confronted each year with the terrible news that their child has cancer, sickle cell disease or some other blood disorder. Embrace Kids Foundation offers unique programs and services that deliver a comprehensive and compassionate method of delivering care to families when they need it most - when their child has a catastrophic illness. Both of our organizations have previously participated in the Rutgers Dance Marathon which raises money for the Embrace Kids Foundation. This year we are seeking to go over and beyond our previous fund raising goals by giving proceeds from the Mr. Engineer competition to the Embrace Kids Foundation. By providing our student organization with your support in any form, you will be helping us raise money to donate to the Embrace Kids Foundation. [Your company] will be directly recognized for your donation as well. As students, our aim is to acquire all the funding for our event from willing donors. For the minimal amount required for a base budget, the return on your investment is not one that can be measured in material value. Our planned event will certainly bring in a substantial amount of donations and the outcome will likely exceed our expectations. Once again, we are only requesting an insignificant amount when compared to the lives you will be aiding with your funds.
