Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: 1. list the properties of shapes (name, side and size) correctly. 2. sort blocks according to its colour, shapes and size. 3. discover the pattern of the blocks 4. complete trains of blocks according to shape and colour patterns Induction set: Recap previous lesson on the properties of shapes. Can you name all the shapes that you’ve already learned? How many sides is the square? Rectangle? Triangle? etc What is the size of this square? Large or small? Lesson development: Stage 1 1. Teacher introduces the first activity on ‘Attribute blocks” to the pupils. 2. Teacher and pupils discuss the activity together. 3. Teacher let the pupils to discover the concept of attribute blocks according to colour, shape and size. 4. Select pupils randomly and ask them to do the activity in front of the class.
Stage 2 1. Teacher introduces the first activity on ‘Attribute trains” to the pupils. 2. Teacher and pupils discuss the activity together. 5. Teacher let the pupils to discover the concept of attribute trains according to colour, shape and number. 6. Select pupils randomly and ask them to do the activity in front of the class. Closure: Let the pupils do the activities in pairs and discuss with their peer about the pattern of each activity.
