School2000 in Indian Schools

School2000 (the company) offers in schools to invest to improve attendance, grades and behaviour in students, by providing parents with on-line information (round the clock, round the year). Parents can access their children’s attendance, grades, merits, concerns, timetable and homework over the Internet and on telephones

Teachers who mark attendance can use Palm2000 to enter and review attendance on their Palm2000. These are portable off-line devices that are portable, small, light and fits into shirt pockets and handbags. Palm2000s work in and out of the school. Rechargeable batteries last a week

Palm2000s are placed on a cradle to update the School2000 server Teachers use Networked Laptops

Teachers use Networked PCs School2000 reports and summaries that teachers, staff and parents need. Reports contain charts, graphs and tables

School2000 server with 2GB Memory Hard Disc running Windows

Up to 4 Parents and guardians can access their student’s attendance, grades, merits, concerns, timetable and homework over the Internet in English, Indian and up to 30 Asian, African and European languages

Parents are alerted on their Email and optionally by text on their cell phones when their children are late/absent or when teachers enter grades, behaviour remarks and homework

With the Telephone option, parents can dial School2000 and listen to voice messages that recite attendance, grades and homework

School2000 in International Schools

Under a partnership we offer to invest in schools 1.1.

School2000 (the product) is offered free of cost to schools. We offer to invest (Up to 60,000 US Dollars) on behalf of schools as many schools cannot afford the investment for high technology

1.2.

The investment pays for a Pentium Server, School2000 software, Alerts to parents and optionally (a) Telephone access to parents and (b) Palm2000s to teachers to mark attendance and grades. The investment also covers installation, database encoding and technical support. Schools need not worry about technology any more. British engineers take care of that to provide a reliable system

1.3.

To recover our investment over 3 to 5 years, we ask parents to subscribe as below

Parent Subscription Parents subscribe an affordable annual amount. There are 3 levels of subscription to cover 3 levels of service 1.3.1.

1.3.2.

Level – 1: Rs 650 a year for the basic Level, where we provide the following 1.3.1.1.

The School2000 server (Pentium IV, 2GB Memory and Hard disc)

1.3.1.2.

School2000 software is installation and technical support is provided over the Internet and through local engineers

1.3.1.3.

Teachers enter attendance, grades, merits, concerns, timetable and homework on the School2000 servers or PCs and Laptops networked to the server

1.3.1.4.

Parents can access their children’s attendance, grades, merits, concerns, timetable and behaviour on the Internet in English, Indian and any of up to 30 European, Asian and African languages

1.3.1.5.

School2000 also alerts parents on their Emails when their children are late/absent and when teachers enter Grades, Merits (Good behaviour), Concerns (Bad behaviour) and Homework

1.3.1.6.

Alerts on cell phone are optional and must be paid for separately by each parent

Level – 2: Rs 1,300 a year for the basic version (above) and one of the following 1.3.2.1.

Palm2000 for each teachers who enters attendance or

Parents can dial School2000 to listen to their children’s attendance, grades and homework

Level – 3: Rs 1,950 a year for the basic version and both of the following 1.3.3.1.

Palm2000 for each grade teachers who enters attendance and

Parents can dial School2000 to listen to their children’s attendance, grades and homework

School2000 in International Schools

Schools should not expect us to provide the School2000 Server, Telephone and Palm2000 in advance. School2000 and its options are supplied in a phased manner with increasing parent subscription

1.4.2.

To start with, schools must provide one of their Internet enabled PCs with at least 512MB Memory (1GB better), Windows 2000 or XP with the latest updates, 15GB Free Disc space in drive C: and Internet access (preferably broadband)

1.4.3.

When parents start to subscribe, we deliver the School2000 hardware in a phased manner

Trials Schools can trial School2000 without any cost or commitment. The school must initially provide an Internet enabled PC with at least 512MB Memory (1GB better), Windows 2000 or XP with the latest updates, 15GB Free Disc space in drive C: and Internet access (preferably broadband)

The school can trial School2000 in one/few classes. Teachers enter attendance, grades on the School2000 PC and PCs networked to it

2.2.

When teachers and the school is satisfied, parents of children in one/few class/es can be provided parent communication over the Internet

When parents are satisfied, School2000 can be expanded to the rest of the school

Benefit to schools 3.1.

School2000 manages most of the administrative tasks, reducing administrative work, repetition, human errors, staff costs and delays

Reports, summaries and letters are prepared by School2000, which can be printed or sent by Fax or Email attachment

Benefits to Parents 4.1.

Parents can access their children’s records 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. No breaks or holidays

4.2.

Parents can access their children’s attendance, grades, good, timetable, homework, good and bad behaviour, over the Internet in English, Indian and in any of up to 30 Asian, African and European languages

4.3.

If Telephone access is ordered, parents who don’t have/want/like Internet can dial School2000 and listen to voice messages that recite their children’s attendance, grades and homework Internet in English, Indian and in any of up to 30 Asian, African and European languages

4.4.

Parents are alerted by Email and by text (on cell phones) when their children are late, absent or when teachers enter grades, homework of comments on behaviour. Alerts on cell phones must be paid separately

4.5.

Benefits to Teachers 5.1.

Teachers have constant (24/7) access to their student’s attendance and grades on their Palm2000

Reports, summaries, standard and reminder letters are generated by school2000, reducing teacher’s workload. Teachers can focus on teaching

Teachers can see if individual students are improving, deteriorating or remaining at the same level

School2000 in International Schools

Database 6.1.

School2000 stores date in an Oracle database

6.2.

The data is stored in the School2000 PC in the school. Others don’t have physical access

6.3.

Oracle data is encrypted with a 256-Bit encryption, which protects it from hacking. Data that is copied cannot be used on any other PC

Technical Support: 7.1.

School2000 is maintained over the Internet, which eliminates the cost, delays and hassles associated with travel

7.2.

School2000 is maintained by British Engineers

7.3.

We offer to provide local engineers full time till the schools is familiar with School2000
