TOCANTINS BRAZIL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FEBUARY 2007 FULL –CONTACT PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR

INTRODUCTION

This project aims to express part of the history of Martial Arts in Brazil from 1980 to the present day, 2007. Throughout these years the martial arts, and particularly the Kickboxing, has been evolving on national and international perspective, gaining popularity as sport and art that aggregates health and discipline to mold citizenship. The Federação Tocantinense de Kickboxing (Tocantins Kickboxing Federation), represented by its president, Domingos Salvador , Stimulated by the consistent growing of this martial art in Brazil the Federação Tocantinense de Kickboxing (Ceará Kickboxing Federation), represented by its president, Domingos Salvador, is promoting a mega-event, the BRAZIL CHAMPIONSHIP CBKBT WKL, to be held on August, 2007, in the capital – Tocantins – Brazil, homologated by the World Kickboxing League and the Federação Tocantinense de Kickboxing. These organizations are supporting the championship that has its focus point on the contest for a World Belt on the Super middleweight (78 kg) category by a Brazilian. Facing this challenge we are sure that the event will uphold the Brazilian kickboxing since the five best Super middleweight athletes will be present, anticipating fights of exceeding degree of technique and ability. With such a purpose the Tocantins Kickboxing Federation (Federação Tocantinense de Kickboxing) is aimed to show to the world that we have tropical beauty and martial arts.

DIVISIONS

- 56 kg (Flyweight) - 63 kg (Lightweight) - 66 kg (Welterweight) - 70 kg (Middleweight Jr) - 78 kg (Super middleweight)

PLACE (ponha o nume do Ginasio) Gymnasium, capital of the state of Tocantins, , Brazil.

PARTICIPANTS The contest is opened to athletes from any country, since he is affiliated to the following associations: PARTICIPATION TERMS 1) All athletes have equal right to participate since the rules of participation are attained; 2) Each team may display a flag (100 x 70 cm) and a national hymn, recorded on compact disc (CD) or cassette tape, may be presented; 3) All participating teams must contact the promoting agency before January, 20 th 2002; 4) The cases not covered by these rules are to be decided by the promoting agency. Teams that do not fulfill the requirements will not be accepted.

TRANSPORTATION A free shuttle service will be available for:   

Airport - hotel (arriving) Hotel – gymnasium – hotel Hotel – airport (departing)

ACCOMMODATIONS

The promoting agency will be responsible for the accommodations of one athlete plus a second accompanying person. Contacts must be made before August, 20th 2007.

SCORING POINS

All medallist athletes mark points for his team.

FINANCING TERMS

Athletes and their teams aiming to participate must notify their national representations (associations, federations, leagues etc). Air tickets, registration fees and Brazilian visa are responsibility of athletes and teams. REFEREES AND ARBITERS Referees and arbiters interested on participating as referees or supervising staff must posses an international certification ID. Besides the candidate must participate in a local when he would be tested and, if approved, receive a certification. A referee would receive US $ 100.00 (a hundred dollars) for each day of work, regardless the number of fights refereed.

FIGHTER’S PURSE

The athletes will be awarded according to the World Kickboxing League, from an allowance granted by the sponsors.
