111. essay a. why do priests needs the support and prayers of the people? priests are human instruments of our lord and are in need of support and prayers of the people. as members of god's people, we are called to help our priests in their mission. the priests are not the only workers in the vineyard. we, the faithful, are called to help in all the activities which concern our faith. b. why may a priest's life seem to be discouraging? a priest's life may sometimes seem discouraging. to the ordinary onlooker, a priest may often feel lonely because his commitment to god in celibacy does not allow him to start his own family. besides, he may be assigned to a community which has no one of his academic training and interest with whom he could interact. c. what are the rewards of a priest's life? the life of the priest has its rewards, the priest is looked up to as a leader in the community. that respect and love is given to him because of his vocation, because the people see him as the representative of god in their community. there is the joy and sense of fulfillment that the priest feels as he brings christ to the community by proclaiming his good news, by celebrating the eucharist with the community and through the administration of the sacraments. most of all, there is the joy of knowing that what he is doing is god's will.
