4. Description:Russa Pally Mangal Samity, better known as Durgamandir, is a renowned club near Tollygunge Tram Depot, which has been established in the year 1934. This 75 years old club is basically carried forward by some aged respectable personalities, who are established in different sectors. WISH had come to know that these people are giving some free coaching to the needy children of their locality. But that was not enough for them to stand in life and maintain the completition with the other children of the society, who are getting every opportunities in life. WISH had understood their problem and had an idea to provide these socially backward children, an up-to-date education on environmental studies and basic computer training, which are among the primary necessities in today’s life. So WISH had come up with its honest proposal to the organizing committee of Durgamandir. After a vivid discussion about the matter and also solving various controversies among both parties, WISH proved itself true and successful to win the hearts of the aged members of Durgamandir.

*Inauguration*:The project was waiting for the beginning of a new educational year, so that the admission of the students according to their new classes would be easier. Durgamandir took a wise initiative to introduce WISH to their locality, as well as to the student and also their parents. They selected the date of “Subho Poila Baisakh” (15th April, 2009) and organized a nice introductory programme in their club premises. The member of WISH who participated in the programme:• Atri Saha • Palash Paul • Kaushik Kundu • Somnath Naha Roy • Shreya Sarkar

*Co-ordination of Environmental Studies*: This is a certificate course on duration of every 6 months and of 100 marks, co-ordinated by Shreya Sarkar. Every Sunday morning, this class is taken by the members of WISH, who always aim to represent a flawless society in the eyes of the forthcoming generation. The children are guided according to the principles of Swami Vivekananda and Shree Ramkrishnadev. Also, they have been awared about the different aspect of their surroundings and nature. The study materials are provided to the children individually, free of cost, and the guidance is given in such a way that it could be beneficial to the age group of 10 to 16 years. *Co-ordination of Basic Computer Education*:This is also a certificate course on Basic Computer Education, coordinated by Sudipta Basu. Although WISH had a primary aim to provide the training to children only, but later it has been understood that there should not be any age- bar as per education is concerned. This class thus attracts some young ladies and housewives, who are having a keen interest to be updated about computer world. WISH spread its hand to them also to initiate the education to all people, those who were lagging behind due to lack of a proper opportunity primarily, some theory classes were taken by the members of WISH where

the study materials were provided individually, free of cost. Now, WISH has proved itself successful to create a wide smile in the faces of those young children, after providing a desktop for their practical classes. In this aspect, we convey our regard to Soma Saha, for her kind donation of the desktop. The Computer classes are taken by:• • •
