Providing Mentoring • Mentorship is a formal or informal relationship in which a senior or more experienced person helps to guide a less experienced person usually a fresh arrival in a project or company. • It is long term in nature. • The protégé or protégée receives support which helps him/her in understanding career guidance, role modeling, and is communication based. • Historically significant systems of mentorship include the guru–disciple traditional practices in the subcontinent.
Providing Counseling • Counseling is done to the person who is little confused or does not know what to do, so some idea is being given in order he should not lose himself. • Counseling attempt to resolve deep underlying issues that are the drivers of low levels of motivation, low self esteem or poor performance. • Counseling is about issues based in the past that are preventing a person moving on in life. It supports people in a time of turmoil and personal crisis.
Counseling Process • The counseling process is a planned, structured dialogue between a counselor and a client. • It is a cooperative process in which a trained professional helps a person called the client to identify sources of difficulties or concerns he/she is experiencing. • Together they develop ways to deal with and overcome these problems so that person has new skills and increased understanding of themselves and others.
Limit of authority is the decisions that certain staff members can make in a business. This includes exchanges and refunds. In certain situations, a staff member must confer with a higher level of authority, before taking a decision.
