The Young Adult Ministry is embarking on a 3-months long campaign for each of us to be an “Andrew” to someone. Project Andrew is a based on a 3 x 3 x 3 strategy: “In 3 months, bring 3 friends to church and share the Gospel with 3 other persons.”

II.

Objective: At the end of this lesson, you will be able to: 1. Remember the 5-Steps Faith Strategy. 2. Identify the friends you want to target. 3. Decide on the Evangelistic Cell Event that the cell will organize.

FAITH STRATEGY

In line with Project Andrew, we are also implementing the 5-Steps FAITH Strategy of winning our friends for Jesus. F – _____________ someone A – _____________ with him I – ______________to cell/church T – ______________ the truth H – ______________ him grow

1) Find Someone In the space below, write down the names of your pre-Christians friends and acquaintances and rank them according to your relationship with them as well as their receptivity to the Gospel. My Target List My Relationship with Them

Their Receptivity to the Gospel

Identifying My Target (Some guidelines)

• • •

Focus more on those who are high on the “receptivity to the Gospel” list. (A person's receptivity changes with time and situations, so it is important to reach someone while he is still open and seeking.) If a friend is ranked high on both columns, that person is a prime target for you to reach. Pray to God who are the persons that He is wanting you to reach. Write down their names of your chosen target/s in the space on Member’s Notes Page 1 of 3

the right. (Time will be given at the end of this lesson for you to ask God who is He impressing on you to reach.)

2) Associate with Him Once you have identified that someone, genuinely extend friendship to him/her. Get to know their interests and lend a helping hand to them when opportunities arise. Though, we would like to ultimately lead them to Christ, our relationship with them should be sincere. In the space on the right, write down some tangible things that you can do in extending genuine friendship to them.

3) Invite to Cell/Church Other than the monthly ministry-wide Evangelistic Services (ES), the cell will embark on Evangelistic Cell Meeting (ECM). This will be done at least twice a year whereby each cell will organize an event for members to invite their pre-Christian friends. The objective is for them to get to know YOUR Christian community, extend our friendship to them and open doors for sharing the Gospel. Discuss some experiences you had in inviting friends to cell or church and highlight possible pitfalls and success methods.

4) Tell the Truth This is where we look for opportunities to present the Gospel in a relevant way to our friends. They may not accept the Gospel the first time, but continue to do steps 2, 3 and 4, pray for them and reach out to them. Do the GIG materials with them if they are willing. Discuss some tools (eg. Pen and paper, Gospel bridge, personal testimony, direct confrontation etc) that you will typically use in presenting the Gospel. Be aware of the method and style that you are most comfortable with as well as its relevance to the friend’s particular situation.

5) Help Them Grow Once your friend accepted Christ, personally run through the Personal Discipling Book with them. Help them to grow in their Christian walk and assimilate into your cell and bring them to the Young Adult Services. Look out for areas where they can serve in the Y.A. ministry, eg. Ushering, projectionist, welcome team, PA, event planning, media design, ministry administration etc.

VI. Conclusion Discuss and decide on the Evangelistic Cell Event the cell will organize. Pray for the cell and the person/s God is wanting you to target. During the week, find opportunities to invite your friends to the Member’s Notes Page 2 of 3
