Progressive Liberalism Definition:

•a person who supports gradual changes and individual liberty.

Moral Views:

•believes in the perfection-ability of man •believes in the right to personal property and individual liberty •believes society can improve through human intelligence •ALL men, women, children are created EQUAL

Government:

•believes that Government should not interfere in personal freedom or private property (forbids eminent domain) •believes that Government should interfere in Enterprise (business)/(regulation) •believes in full separation of Church and State •believes in FULL and open transparent Government (‘We the People = Government’)

Education:

•believes in Free Will to teach and to enrich the student’s talent and ability instead of standardization test •must master the 4 core requirement (Math/Science/Social Studies/English) •must provide more liberal electives such as hands-on skill

Abortion:

•believes that abortion is unjust and morally wrong, however, the individual belief/religion/values should be decided by the individual •rejects the idea of using tax money to pay for abortion

Progressive Liberalism Death Penalty:

•believes that death penalty is morally wrong but God is the decider. (ex: put the prisoner on a island with nothing and if he survives, he survives. If he dies, he dies. The timing of death is determined by God.)

Drug War:

•believes that Government should not interfere in the drug war •individual rights to drug use, if the individual wants to use drugs. They are to be aware of the consequence and the decision to use is theirs alone •if a drug user harms others, then the fullest extent of the law will be applied •believes in harsh and strict sentence if harm is done to others

Health Care:

•believes that everyone is entitled to health care because of the ‘General Welfare’ in the preamble •health care is a right, not a privilege •the Government should provide basic care (typical surgery, dental, etc). If the individual wants ‘personal’ care then they shall pay for it, but not taxpayers

Foreign Policy

•believes that the US Government shall not interfere with other nations •Free Trade

Progressive Liberalism Environment:

•environmentalist thinking •energy dependence on foreign country is a threat to National Security •must be energy independent in effective ways •preserve nature as God intended, ‘God created the world and it is our duty to protect it’ •believes that human contribution is a direct/indirect cause of Global Warming

Gun Control:

•believes that the Second Amendment gives limited individual the right to own guns, gun kills people. •People whom are mentally unstable, first time offender of any crime shall not own a gun.

Immigration:

•supports legal immigration •must have a process to obtain American citizenship •either take the citizenship test or pay taxes for 7 years

Religion:

•supports the separation of Church and State •Religious expression has no place in Government •Religion should not interfere with Government’s decision making

Same-sex Issue:

•Marriage is only between man and woman as viewed by the Church •man/woman or man/man or woman/woman is recognized as a civil union by the State •believes that prohibiting same-sex citizens from having civil union denies them of their civil rights.

Social Security:

•rejects Social Security payments to the wealthy

Progressive Liberalism Taxes:

•supports progressive taxes in correlation to budget deficit or surplus. (ex: if deficit is present in the budget then increase taxes)

Discrimination/Disab- •believes that the Government is responsible to ility: support those who have been discriminated (ex: a handicapped person is unable to get jobs due to a disability and has been discriminated, then the Government should support the welfare of that person. •believes in UNIVERSAL DESIGN, all building/devices must accommodate for any person of disability (ex: must have captioning on every TV in public and private places) •extends the olive branches to new and emerging technology to accommodate the disabled.
