Process of Photosynthesis z
Photosynthesis: It is the process of preparation of food by green plants in the presence of sun light using carbon dioxide and water as raw material. The overall reaction of the photosynthesis is summarized. (A) Photosynthetic Pigment – Chlorophyll: Chlorophyll is green pigment present in the leaves of plants. Chlorophyll is photoreceptor molecule that plays and important role in the photosynthetic process. There are different types of pigment molecule like chlorophyll-a (blue green) chlorophyll-b (yellow green), xanthophylls (yellow) and carton (Red) present in plants. (B) Site of Photosynthesis – Chloroplast: Leaves are the photosynthetic organ in plants. Chloroplasts are more localized in the leaves. These are the photosynthetic organelles in the cell. These can be observed under electron microscope. In a cross section of leaf, chloroplast can be seen below the upper epidermis in a tissue called palisade. (c) Raw Material for Photosynthesis: The synthesis of Carbohydrates (sugar) requires two substances .these are CO2 and H2O. Presented By: Rohit Jassi & Jatin Class VII GMSSS,Ladowali Road Jal.
