FREE TEACHERS ASTRONOMY SESSION Planetary Society, India is organizing Free Astronomy Session for Teachers on 12th March, 2008 at Little Flowers High School, Abids, Hyderabad from 1.30 Noon to 4.00 p.m. Details of the Session : Session would involve Audio – Video presentations with explanation on various Celestial Events in 2008 like Saturn being closest , brightest and biggest , Jupiter Opposition, Total Solar Eclipse, Meteor Showers and other celestial events. Highlights of the session : 1. Lady on Mars 2. Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence – Are We Alone 3. Asteroids which missed Mars, Earth, SKY LAB II 4. Identify Planets with Naked Eye. 5. Chandrayaan I – Moon Rover Model Students of the society to ISRO. 6. 2008 being declared as “Year of Planet Earth” by UN - projects of the society involving Eight Research institutions. Further activities for “International Year of Potato” and 2009 as “International Astronomical Year” would be discussed.

Session is aimed at laying basic foundation in teaching of various astronomical events expected to occur this year and importantly create awareness about the recent reports about Mars, Asteroids, Sky Lab in the print and electronic media with further updates..
