PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 21, 2009

SPECIAL NEWS RELEASE On 11/21/09 at about 5:01 AM hours the Bakersfield Police Department’s Communication Center received an emergency 911 call reporting the victim of an unknown type of assault in the 1300 block of Eureka Street. Uniformed patrol officers arrived on scene several minutes later and contacted the reporting party. She told officers that she had returned home after visiting friends, entered her residence, located at 1307 Eureka Street, and located her fiancé suffering from unknown type trauma inside his bedroom. Emergency medical personnel responded to the location and declared the victim deceased. The victim is described as a Hispanic male 43 years old whose identity is being withheld pending notification by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The victim suffered fatal traumatic injury. The exact cause of death is pending results of an autopsy and coroner’s investigation. As of this news release there is no suspect information or motive to the incident which is being handled as a homicide.
