Preparing for the National Curriculum with ICTs
ICT Goal 1 Technology is integrated in an aligned curriculum 2 Students have online access to clear objectives, concepts and learning outcomes for each unit 3 Technology options for fostering student engagement in the assessment process are considered
4 Teaching and learning processes using technologies are designed in consideration of student needs, such as access, equity and flexibility
5 The use of technologies reflects the importance of student interactions with other participants in the learning process
Evidence Is there a clearly articulated alignment between outcomes, activities and assessment? is this info in an accessible online format?
Practice How does the use of the ICT support assessment?
Are students able to complete assessment tasks using a variety of different tools and media (audio, video, image, text, etc)
What online tools are being offered (Web2.0) What office automation is being used? How repetitive is the use? Are there opportunities for students to submit parts of their work to the teacher for feedback? Is there a forum in which can be used to answer assignment questions
Are students given extended periods in which they may submit assessment tasks Are students given direction to ICT support options if they need it Are questions (asked in person or by email) posted online for cohort equity reasons Are students encouraged to use discussion boards or other collaborative tools – to answer/ask questions, or to view and comment on each other’s work
how is information presented and accessed via ICTs.
Is there a safe, discussion area for students to have conversations around work related issues?
