Pre-K Newsletter We are growing! We are growing just like the spring flowers. We have been busy getting ready for our spring show. Please practice singing the songs with your child so they won’t forget the words over the vacation. Have a happy and healthy vacation! We are working towards our class goal. We will learn the words “dog, cat, bus, boy, and girl” from our Language for Learners program by May 1st. We will have vocabulary word rings with these words on them to help us achieve this goal.
Readers Workshop
In our literacy program, we are reading “When Robins Sing” by Miriam Frost and Elizabeth Savage. We talked about and are observing the changes that happen during the spring. We are watching the leaves grow on trees and the flowers bloom. We are learning to use picture clues to read words. We are also learning to count the sounds in a word. We have started writing class stories and drawing pictures to match the words.
Everyday Math In Math we are recognizing patterns. We can identify sound and color patterns. We enjoy making necklaces with patterns. At home, you can have your child create their own patterns by drawing pictures or using their toys.
Parent Reminders Our Pre-K show is April 22nd at 9:30 A.M. Please have your child wear blue jeans that day. Don’t forget to read stories with your child every day!
