POLLUTION

• The main objective of this project is to give the students knowledge about our natural resources, the main causes of pollution of our natural resources and ways of controlling pollution of our natural resources.

Pollution • Pollution, contamination of Earth’s environment with materials that interfere with human health, the quality of life, or the natural functioning of living organisms and their physical surroundings. Although some environmental pollution is a result of natural causes such as volcanic eruptions, most is caused by human activities.

Causes of Water Pollution • Domestic Sewage • Domestic Garbage • Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides used by farmers • Industrial effluent

Spreading Awareness Domestic sewage should be treated before being discharged into rivers. Industries are supposed to treat the waste they discharge into rivers under environment protection laws.

Controlling air pollution • Switching to cleaner fuels is an option. • Make it compulsory for all industries to scrub the smoke they omit. • Afforestation

ROLE OF FORESTS • Forests control soil erosion. • Maintain natural balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide. • Help in making rain. • Also regulate the temperature.
