QAS* - Quality Arterial Stiffness

Discover the RF-based Quality Arterial Stiffness, the most accurate assessment of arterial vessel health condition. Based on the same RF-based and Real Time technology, RFQAS provides additional several parameters which combined with the available standard ultrasound acquisition offer to the physician an extraordinary tool to evaluate the arterial

stiffness condition. Starting from the analysis of the blood vessel wall properties, the algorithm is looking at vessel diameter and its relevant distension and stiffness. The procedure is based under the guidance of the Standard Deviation (SD) value, to guarantee an high value in measure feedback reliability.

The extraordinary importance of RFQAS technology is based on the accurate resolution of the measure (far superior to currently available alternative options). Thanks to the RF analysis, the system can offer increased user independence and greater accuracy of the measurements compared to all other available solutions. XStrainTM Advanced Technology Improvements AHS, Aided Heart Segmentation Discover the AHS, the Esaote’s exclusive tool to assist physicians during XStrainTM analysis. The relevant aim is to provide a software driven, easy to use and “operator independent” procedure to obtain a very accurate tracking points positioning. The latter is applicable with dedicated methods for both apical and short axis views to standardize diagnostic results. The procedure is based on anatomical heart landmarks identification without the need for template matching algorithms.

The tool takes into consideration the Standard Heart Segmentation (ASE Segmentation), and has been designed to rely on a different number of points according to the heart view under exam. The AHS is an extraordinary help in reducing inter-intra operator variability, diagnosis follow-up and to make the point insertion procedure easier, faster and more accurate.

The RCA, Regional Curves Analysis, function was extended to cover all the parameters provided by the XStrainTM technology. Relying on the ASE heart segmentation, the RCA simplifies the data interpretation providing one single averaged graph for each heart segment. It represents the best and quickest way to score heart segments functionality. It allows an overall assessment of all cardiac parameters by using a smart and immediate graphycal representation. The physicians can anyway perform further measurements based on time, peaks, shifts and delays.

High Definition Zoom Discover the new High definition zoom now available in real-time as alternative to the conventional zoom. The choice between high resolution zoom and conventional zoom can be performed according to the user preferences. High definition zoom only acquires the image inside the ROI (Region Of Interest). Framingham Risk Score Calculator in CV Disease Discover the Framingham Risk Score Calculator in Cardiovacular Disease (CVD), available on all systems. The Framingham Risk Score was developed from the Framingham Heart Study of the Cardiovascular risk – under the direction of the National Heart Institute (now National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute or NHLBI), and indicates the individual risk of developing CVD over a 10-year-risk. The objective was to identify the common factors or characteristics that contribute to CVD by following its development. CVD is the leading cause of death and serious illness in the USA. The Study started in 1948, and was completed in 2005: it followed a large group of patients (30-74 years old) over a

long period of time in order to determine which kind of risk factors could predict the CVD development. The predictors were fixed in: age, sex, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol categories, diabetes, smoking status, systolic blood pressure categories. Thanks to the innovative tutorial the user can perform the Framingham Risk Score Calculator operations in an easy and fast way by filling the dedicated fields in with the required predictors parameters and following the suggested procedure step by step. A final report with the Risk Score is also available.
