----- Forwarded message from [email protected] ----Open letter to Prime Minister Harper, Since you and your government are either unwilling or unable to protect the citizens of this Country who you represent, as evidenced by the disgraceful retreat of your Battlefields Commission recently from supporting the Plains of Abraham reenactment, this letter will be anonymous; since all English Canadians should now fear for their safety. I find it quite hypocritical that while your Minister of Justice has just announced “[that] We are sending a very clear message: we will not tolerate such violent criminal activity that attempts to flourish at the expense of law abiding Canadians.", that this would not pertain to “law abiding Canadians” at a historical and cultural event in Quebec during the summer. I, like many Canadians, find it absolutely reprehensible that our Government continues to cater to the French as evidenced by the most recent cancellation of the re-enactment of the battle on the Plains of Abraham. Under the pretense of not being able to provide security for its citizens after a few radical separatists threatened violence, surely Canada has shown the world not only that it cannot possibly protect any citizen, visitor or dignitary from harm on Canadian soil but also that the rule of law and order will not be enforced in Canada. This cowardly retreat of the current Conservative Government sets a very dangerous precedent whereby any event across Canada (or possibly just those opposed by French separatists) can be thwarted simply with a phone call or anonymous email. It’s quite clear that
Quebec City’s 400th anniversary is worth protecting while other events are not. Surely this is not the Canada that we can be proud of on the world stage or the country which would inspire judicial confidence amongst its peer nations. As you will find from the petition link at http://thetruthxposed.com, we the people of Canada would like our elected government do the following immediately: -re-instate the re-enactment on the Plains of Abraham -ensure that its citizen's right to be protected is upheld during such an event -discontinue henceforth from being manipulated by the will of a small fraction of the country Anonymous
