I don't think I will post much but I will try to get a recent picture of me posted before the reunion. My guess is that most of our class don't use internet based communication. Activity might increase as more people find out about it and we get closer to the reunion. I have logged in about 10 times so if the other 25 people also logged in 10 times that could account for 250 of the 700. You might suggest that classmates in a given area try to get together for lunch every month or two. You could post the date, time and location of those events on the website. If the social butterflies in the class would get something started maybe some of the rest of us would join in once in a while. You could send a monthly email letter with the dates and times of the lunches and that alone would get people thinking about it. For the record, I usually contribute financially when I don't want to do any of the work. Phil Thu Oct 20, 2005 - 5:19 PM

We will be serving in the Singapore Mission for 18 months (unless they extend us), so we should be home in time for th

reunion. We will serve in a country outside of Singapore, but won't know where until we get there and the President interviews us. The mission includes East and West Malaysia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, The Maldives, Diego Garc and Pakistan. We'll be in one of these. A little data on us for you: Married Janet Bird from Springville Eleven kids, 39 grandkids, and five in the oven that we know of. It looks like a great time for everyone. I only attended the 20th Clas Reunion, but the 50th seems like a milestone reunion.

Thanks again for the email update, The last 50 years have been good. There was a rough start going to college, took nine years to get a BS in chemistry, U State, 1966. After that education was much easier, a MS, organic chemistry, 1967 – Utah State and a PhD, natural prod chemistry, 1969, Colorado State. From there, we moved on to Arizona State to do postdoctoral research with anti tumor natural products. After not being able to find industrial employment, I taught organic chemistry at the University of Virgin

one year. Yes, we moved a lot. In the industrial sector, I found employment and finally moved back to the Rockies, and worked at Gates Rubber Co, followed by Tosco Corp, an independent oil company (synthetic fuels – oil shale – and petroleum ref The work at Tosco and all subsequent positions was in the human and environmental health areas. Moved from Littleto to Newbury Park CA to work in Tosco’s corporate office. Tosco became essentially insolvent, and I moved to Getty Oil’s corporate office. Texaco purchased Getty Oil and we moved to Laramie WY to lead the Western Research Institute’s environmental division. At this point in my career, my wife and I divorced and I moved into consulting. Consulting is not known for long-term employment stability and one "moves on" often. I worked for consulting firms in Camarillo CA, Ft. Collins, CO, Englewo CO, and Denver CO. At that point I started my own small firm, Coomes Associates. [My associates were the plants in m home office]. Coomes Associates was successful and I still “dabble” in part-time work. After 14 years of living alone, I found and married Carol in 1998 – we’re still “newly weds”. We retired and moved from Denver to Pueblo CO. We have the hobby of building modernized old cars [called street rods], which is an expensive ho and explains why I still dabble in consulting. We will bring one of the cars, a 1932 Chrysler, to the reunion. Can’t wait to see you all and relate our lifetime experiences.

2007 UPDATES: Jeniel and I are happily married and living in Sunnyvale, California, about 45 miles south of San Francisco. We have liv here 36 years and so this is home to us. We come to Provo a few times a year to see friends and relatives and that is h too.

We have five sons and one daughter and 25 grandchildren. It seems that we will not have more grandchildren, but we n have 4 Great Grandchildren and another on the way. When we all get together including spouses there are more than 4 us. That is difficult to believe, especially when you consider how young we of the class of 57 are.

Our family has been the center of our lives and we love them dearly and spend time with them most days. We own a fa business with all the boys working there and our daughter keeps close tabs on us, for which we are grateful.

We also have enjoyed serving in the church. We just returned from a full time mission to the south of England in Augus loved the people there and some days we wish we were back in England. Most of the time we are happy to be home.

It has been a good life and we have had a lot of wonderful friends including those from the class of 57. We have been t blessed and have learned how much the Lord loves all of us. April 2007: Our children gave us a wonderful 50th wedding anniversary party last summer. They picked us up in a 56 Chev. Belaire and to took us to a Sock Hop over at the church. When we arrived we saw a group of family and friends dressed in Poodle skirts and Levis and T shirts. They had a shirt for Brent and a Poodle skirt for Jeniel. We danced to music ranging from Rock Around the Clock to our love song, True Love, from High Society which we saw on our honeymoon in 1956. It has been 50 years of bliss and we now have direct descendants numbering 52 including 6 children with spouses, 25 grandchildren with many spouses and 7 great grand children. We have been truly blessed! The party took us back 50 years and made us look forward to the PHS reunion coming this summer. See you all there! If any of you come to the bay area, we would love to see you. All the best, Brent and Jeniel Dickson

FROM 1987 BIOGRAPHY: HOBBIES: still sports, OCCUPATION: Utah Dept of Trans, Safety Ins Coordinator COMMENTS: Sure miss all the----.

2007 UPDATE: I was born on Jan 7, 1939 in Salt Lake City. My mom had me in the front bedroom of a little home located at 1418 S. Bl Street, just a couple of blocks from Liberty Park. e ended up being the 7th child out of 10 kids. Our family moved to Pro the summer of 1946 where we lived in a small home next to where Carpenter Seed is now. The Pioneer Drive In opene year just a couple of blocks south of our home. The rest of that year we only missed seeing 3 or 4 shows. Come spring family had to move again. My parents found a home south of the rail road tracks at 89 E. 7890 S. We had an acre of pr with a barn. My dad always had cows, pigs, chickens, etc. plus large garden. The best part of living there was that the Timpanogos Golf Course was just a block south of our home. My dad had worked on the railroad for several years. Wh moved to Provo he wanted to be home more instead of being out on the tracks somewhere, so he go0t a job with Provo Parks and Recreation. My mom worked a couple of years at the Utah Valley Hospital before taking a job up at the State Mental Hospital, where she worked for 27 years. Together they didn't make a lot of money. Having the golf course there offered us kids a way to help earn the money we needed for clothes and entertainment. Thank goodness that the movie only cost a dime or 14 cents. My first job was working for Tuck Hoover (Bonnie Hoover's dad) changing the water, mow the greens, etrc. I spent a lot of my young life hunting golf balls in the ditches or in the old Provo Fairgrounds next to the course. It was early spring in 1956, right after we had won the State Championship in basketball that I was playing catch with G Thomas out on his front lawn at 150 N. It just happened that there was a young, good looking girl sitting up against a tre That girl turned out to be Cady Joy Oveson. We talked for a few minutes and then I went back to continue playing catch George. Cady was born in Provo. Her parents were Melvin and Romania Allred Oveson. It wasn't long after they had her little br David, that her dad was called to serve in the Second World War. When he returned home from the war, her mom left th and ran off to California, leaving Melvin to raise the kids. Her dad had bought the home right after coming home and he lives there today. As it turned out, Cady just happened to bump into me the next day at school. To make a long story short, Cady and I we married on Feb 26, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. We had gone together for nearly 3 years. That was a long 3 years be I had asked her dad on her 16th birthday if I could give her a ring. I didn't understand why he kept saying "no" until my daughter turned 16. The time we spent together at Provo High was a lot of fun. However, my freshman year up at BYU disaster. Cady

s dad was really trying his hardest to break us up because we were getting too serious. I flunked my English class takin out to lunch and I got an incomplete in my baseball class because i was taking her home from school most of the time. her 18th birthday her mother picked her up after work at the Academy Theater and took her to Salt lake to live with her. didn't set well with her dad, so he said we could get married. i dropped out of school, giving up my scholarship and wen work to get enough money to get married. We were really happy when so many of you came to our wedding reception. We moved into a little apartment up on the avenues. Cady started working at the First Security Bank at 100 S. Main Str and I was working for the State Road Commission, District 2 on their paint crew. it was on Dec 21, 1960 that our first daughter Cathryn was born. Se weighed in at 8 lbs. 13 oz. Cady was in labor for over 36 hours during which time I think timed every contraction with my stop watch. When it was over I gave the watch to Lynn and told him that I never wanted see it again. It wasn't very long before our government got us involved in the Cuban Crises. I was activated to Fort Lewis with the 74 Military Unit out of Salt Lake. Before going I had moved Cady and our new daughter Cathryn down to Provo. Upon retu home we rented a home located at 89 N. 800 W. where we lived for a couple of years prior to buying our home in Orem where we still live today. I had started playing fast pitch softball in 1959 in Salt Lake. Now, we were playing at Harmon P Softball and church basketball were our life. When I pitched my last fast pitch softball game I had played 40 years. We lucky enough to go to Oswego, New York in 1977 to play in the Nationals in fast pitch softball. We took 5th place. We a went to Hawaii to play in the Hilo Invitational, to Casey, Illinois, Modesto California, Grand Junction Colorado, Las Vega Elko (everry 4th of July) just to name a few places. Also I played at the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George fo years. Our son John David was born on Sept 11, 1963 again weighing in at 8 lbs 13 oz. It was fun to have both a girl and a bo May 1, 1967 we had another girl that we named Susan. She ended up being the best baby having no colic, ear aches, She was just a good baby. Cady got pregnant again and we named the little boy Harvey. He was stillborn on Aug 10, 19 days after full term, when Cady ruptured with Placenta Pervia. This was a very hard time for all of u, especially Cady. I am happy to say that all of children are healthy and are doing well. Cady and I have 5 grandkids: Keilani, who was born in Hawaii and was named Cady and Lonnie (Quiin and Luke are John and Cor's kids) and Nathan Ryan Moore (who is Jeff and Susan Moore's so Our oldest daughter Cathryn never had any children. I got my job back with the State Road Commission when I returned home from Fort Lewis. This time however I worked District Six which took in all of Juab, Utah, Wasatch, Duchesne, Uintah and Daggett Counties. I loved my job, starting o the pain and sign crew where I ran the back of the stripper, painting all the lines on the state highways located in our dis When we were not painting we were putting up all the traffic control signs along the same highways. In 1965 I started m out payrolls and keeping inventories of all our materials, etc. In 1970 I was transferred from our station in American For to the District Office in Orem. I started working under Lady Bird Johnson's Highway Beautification Program. I was a Hig Beautification Coordinator, having control of all the outdoor advertising signs and junkyards located adjacent to our maj highways in the district. Also I was working in Encroachments with Enos Neilson. In 1980 I got the job as safety Coordin with responsibilities of coordinating the states safety program with all of our employees working in our construction and maintenance programs. This included making sure that all of our employees in the District were trained in Traffic Contro First Aid and CPR, Defensive Driving, Radiological Defense, et5c. In 1983 they changed our title to District Safety/Loss Control Manager. Along with my safety responsibilities I processed all the notices of claims that that came in to our offic accidents involving fatalities and major personal injuries where highway conditions were said to have been the cause o accident. Also I processed all the Tort Liability Claims such as broken windshields, pot holes and paint damage, etc. I w court several times where there had been a fatality or other major personal injuries wherein highway conditions were cl to have caused the accident. I was expected to be prepared with proper documentation wnd photos of the highway conditions in and around the accident site. Every time someone was killed my pager would go off and I had to respond. When I retired at the end of 2--- I had been to over 1000 fatal accident sites along with numerous other accidents where there were serious injuries in our construction and maintenance projects throughout the district. When I turned 62 I retired on on Dec 31, 2000 and took my Social Security. I had worked a total of 42 years for the Stat Utah. I started painting parking lots in 1966 as a second job to help supplement our income. For 37 years our family was in th painting business. Along with parking lots we painted city streets and x-walks, etc. I pained before going to work, after g off work, and almost every Sunday when all you good people were in church. I know that I properly would be getter off t if I had gone to church more. Such is life. My son took over the business 5 years ago. Cady and I have been married for 48 wonderful years. Since my retirement we have become winter snowbirds in St. Ge Also we have become regular patients at the hospitals goth in Provo and Salt Lake. To tell you about our medical proble would just bore you(as most of this letter has probably already done). I can't believe that this is our 50th reunion. My life

continue to be good to you and your families.

It hardly seems possible that it has been 50 years. I can't remember if I've written anything about my self in past years so here is a brief sketch of life since graduation: I didn't go college, but I worked in Washington State and Provo for about five years before I go married. in December 1962 i marri Garth Torgersen and we are the parents of five terrific children, one daughter and four sons. I have had some physical challenges over the years due to rheumatoid Arthritis. and have always been a stay at home except for a few rare occasions. That sounds like a pretty boring life, but it really hasn't been. It's been great! We enjoy frequent occasions with our children and our 18 grandchildren since they all live between Provo and Layton with the exception of one son and his family that live in Italy. My husband Garth retired from BYU six years ago and we have traveled a little. Hopefully we will make it to Italy in the future. Best wishes to all of you.

***At Reunion*** Lund, Marion 1791 S 310 W, Orem, Ut 84058 USA 226 5465 [email protected] I was born in Malad, Oneida County, Idaho on April 2, 1939. At the time of my birth my parents were living in Eagar, Apa County, Arizona. My mother felt that the only place to have babies was in Malad, Idaho with her doctor, Dr. Maeby. My s Catherine Louise (Katie) ad my brother, William Guy Jr. (Billie) were also born in Malad. Katie was born December 9, 19 and Billie was born November 11, 1937. My younger sister, Lois Ann Lund, was born in Eagar, Apache County, Arizona six days after my mother's birthday on May 26, 1943. Dad said he wanted Mom to know that babies could be born in Ar too.

I come from good stock. My grandfather on my mother's side, William Henry Richards was a bishop and stake presiden Malad for many years. One day I was on an airplane, and seated a few rows ahead of me, was Elder LeGrand Richard There was an empty seat on the aisle next to him, so, I got up my courage and sat next to him. I said, "Elder Richards, nane is Marion RICHARDS Lund. I don't know my history very well, but could you tell me if we are related?"

He said, "Where are you from?" I replied, "I was born in Malad Idaho." He said, "William Henry Richards?" And I said, "He is my grandfather!" Elder Richards said, "Oh, he was a great stake president for twenty-five years, and when we released him, we put his s THOMAS in for another twenty-five. How are you connected?" I answered, "My mother is CATHERINE." He responded, "Oh, Kate?" I said, "That is my mother." Then, he said, "I've eaten many a fine meal in your family home. We have this agreement, you don't say anything bad a our Richards line, and we won't say anything bad about yours. No, we are not related."

My grandparents on my father's side were real pioneers in Arizona. My Grandfather, William Lund, was the son of Willia Wilson Lund and Annie Elizabeth Wiltbank. My grandmother was Lucinda Margaret Lee, daughter of John Willard Lee a Lucinda Margaret Clark. They were called under the direction of Erastus Snow to leave St George, Utah, to settle the n eastern part of the territory of Arizona in 1879. Grandma was reported to be the first white child born in Apache County, Arizona. She was born in a wagon box in Amity, Arizona, on ground that has become known as the D.C. Martin land. (T actor, John Wayne, bought a ranch somewhere near there.)

Great grandpa Lund homesteaded the Lund ranch just a couple of miles North of a little town of Nutrioso, Arizona. This beautiful little valley was home to them and they thought there couldn't be any better place on the earth. My father was in Nutrioso, on October 10, 1898. Nutrioso is a Spanish word which means Beaver/Bear, so, my father was born on Beaver/Bear Creek. He was the oldest of sixteen children. My grandmother was a granddaughter of John Doyle Lee, w means that I am a great, great grandson of that great man.

For the first ten years of my life we lived in Eagar, Arizona, where my folks had a grocery store and still maintained the c ranch at the old homestead fifteen miles south-east of Eagar. We helped on the ranch with the branding, roping, dehorn etc. We would also help drive the cattle to the summer range which was higher in the mountains. Dad used to say that a pretty good cowboy.

We went to school in the Eagar Elementary Public School where Mom was a teacher. We couldn't be too bad, or Mom know about it almost immediately. In this small school some of the grades were combined in one class room with the sa teacher. I don't remember any of my teachers names during those early years, but I do remember some of the teachers had in Primary. I remember going to Sister Kartchner's home to work on my bandalo and learn some of the Trail Blazer songs. I also remember Utahna Butler who married Dallas Butler. I always thought she was one of the prettiest women ever met.

In Eagar, Dad was in a bishopric with Bishop Paris Ashcroft and Ether Brown. One Sunday as they met in bishopric me they were discussing the topic of REVERENCE and what they could do to increase the reverence in their meetings. Eth Brown turned to dad and said, "Guy, if you could control your family, the bishop and I can handle the rest of the ward." N I'm not saying that we were rowdy, noisy, or rambunctious or anything, but, well.... One time when Dad was conducting the church meeting, Katie was acting out and running up and down the aisles and the stand where Dad was, so, Dad picked her up and started to take her out of the meeting. She cried, "Don't beat me Daddy, I'll be good. Don't beat me." It really embarrassed him and Mom.

When I was about ten years old, we moved to Provo, Utah, and took over the Beck Motel at 250 South University Aven We moved to Utah so that we could attend Utah schools and especially BYU. Katie, Bill and I all graduated from there. think another reason we moved was so that we didn't marry our cousins. Eagar was a small town and just about everyo was related. We used to say that you couldn't throw rocks without hitting a relative. Then too, Leiloni Lee was looking a good.) ( I think another reason was that my best friend was Billie Jack Hall. He was always getting into trouble and I wo have been right there with him. I think he ended up in prison or something.)

We were very active in sports, and I was a fierce competitor. In fact, the older I get, the better I was. Ha! I played baske softball, baseball, volleyball, and football. Also, I boxed in college.

Our family was well thought of in the church and the community. I think we were fortunate to have good friends to assoc with and I was especially blessed to have a big brother so I could follow in his footsteps. He was a year ahead of me in school and set a pretty high standard to follow. He was well liked and made friends easily.

Mom and Dad got us involved in music when we moved to Provo. They had a band in elementary school so Bill and I jo He played the trumpet and I liked to pound on things, so I played the drums. Stanley Brady was the band teacher and t lot of time with me to show me how to do certain things. He stayed with us when we went to Jr. High School. I expande knowledge of percussion to include the timpani, or kettle drums. I got to be pretty good and was recommended by Mr. B to the all-state band in Salt Lake. (Normally, it was only High School students that got to play in the all-state band. We p a special concert in the tabernacle on Temple Square. When we played The Stars and Stripes Forever, it gave me goos bumps. That number really highlights the timpani.

In 1956, when I was a junior in high school, I was sent by the Kiwanis Club in Provo to the Key Club International conve in Dallas, Texas. We had a great time and got to meet some star athletes (Frank Gifford who played for the Dallas Cow and some movie stars (Kim Novack in a filmy neglige) she made quite an impression on me. As soon as I returned from Dallas, I was met at the train station and whisked off to Utah Boy's State to participate in the mock government and civi affairs program. I learned a lot about the legislative process, and I associated with a lot of nice people. (I even had a pil fight with Don Fullmer, younger brother of Gene Fullmer, the heavy weight champion of the world. Don went on to be a famous boxer, also. However, I knocked his block off in a pillow fight.)

I graduated from Provo High School in 1957 and began college at Brigham Young University that fall. Mom and Dad ne did have much money to spare, so the children were expected to work and help put themselves through school. Dad he some with tuition, but I had several odd jobs such as mowing lawns and taking care of yards. I also helped in the motel cleaning rooms and taking care of the motel. During the summer we swept the leaves from the parking lot, and during t winter we shoveled the snow. It seems that there was always something to keep us busy. We rented the rooms and too of the business. Some times we would stay up late into the night and Dad would give us half of what ever we rented aft certain time.

When I started college, Dad went with me to see Mr. Nichols at First Security Bank. We borrowed $500.00 so that I cou my tuition and books. During the semester I worked and paid the money back to the bank. The next semester we did th same thing. After a couple of semesters Mr. Nichols said to me, " You don't have to bring your dad with you anymore. Ju come in and sign for what you need." I felt that I had finally reached adulthood and was trusted enough to have my own credit. I appreciated Dad's help in getting me started. It taught me the importance of being fiscally responsible. That les has stuck with me all my life, and I have always maintained the attitude that we should pay our own way and be respon for our money and our debts.

I had a lot of fun the first couple of years of college. I joined a social unit, the Val Hyrics. We had a lot of social activities the female counterparts and it was great. I dated a lot. My grades didn't do so well. After two years I decided that I woul accept a mission call. In 1959 I was assigned to the West Central States which included the states of Montana, Wyomin and part of North and South Dakota. President Casper W. Merrill from Logan, Utah and his wife were the mission presid About halfway through my mission they were released and Grant G. Wooley and his wife were called to preside. My firs was Missoula Montana and my first companion was Clayton Huber from Lapoint, Utah. After a couple of months I had t him well enough that he was made assistant to the president. I worked with another Elder Lund, Grant Lund. They calle brother and sister Lund..... my first name is Marion..... Hmmmmm.(Grant is the brother to Gerald Lund who is the autho The Work and The Glory series of books. He came out to the same mission field when Grant went home.)

I was transferred to Bismark, North Dakota. I also served in Mandan and Dickenson, North Dakota. It was especially ba the winter. My companion and I had the only baptisms that came out of that district in years. We baptized Gwendolyn H Chadwick and her son Larry. Larry was 12 years old and was our only Deacon for a long time.

My next area was Lander, Wyoming where I worked with an Elder who had emotional problems. He was so shy that he not talk to anyone... including me. About 20 years after my mission I was working in Burley, Idaho. I was playing church and there on the basketball floor was this same Elder (Lynn Hanks). I couldn't believe it was the same Elder. He was no 70, Stake Mission Leader, married with children and very out-going. What a change!

From Lander we went to the Ft. Washakie Indian reservation. It was about 15 miles out of Lander. We lived in the little w

chapel and worked with the Shoshone and Arapaho Indians. While there a brother Parent gave me an Indian name. "Bi Stink Foot". I don't know where he came up with that one.

My brother, Bill was serving a mission in England during part of the time I was out. Dad was having quite a struggle kee us both out at the same time. He went to the High Priests of the stake and asked if they would help. He sent me $20.00 the High Priests were to send me $80.00. The High Priests only sent a couple of checks and then nothing. I was too embarrassed to tell Dad that I needed more money. We ate a lot of peanut butter and crackers. (We called peanut butte "Salvation Salve". Whenever dad would send a check he would say, "Well son, you just sold another calf" When we we young and helping with the branding dad would brand a calf for us. He used to ask us if we wanted a steer calf or a heif calf. We learned quickly that steer calves brought more money at auction, but heifer calves would build a herd. We took heifer calves and built a herd. By the time my mission was over, my herd was gone.

My next transfer made me a Supervising Elder. I went to Butte, Montana and then to Whitehall and finally Bozeman, Montana. I finished out my mission in Bozeman. At the conclusion of my mission I returned to Provo and began working Vista Optical. It was owned by Warner Murphy. He also owned Sisken Optical where Bill worked. Mr. Murphy thought th was as good of a worker as Bill, I would do all right. I was, and I did.

In 1962 I went to the Hill Cumorah Pageant with Dr. Harold I. Hansen. Six Elders supervised three bus loads of girls all way to New York and back. Talk about the "fox in the hen house". What an opportunity! That Eastern States Mission wa only mission in the world that got a two week vacation... with girls.

I was selected by Dr. Hansen to play the part of the resurrected Christ. It was the final scene of the pageant, and the culmination of the whole story. It was really a special experience. I read and re-read III Nephi where it talks about the gr destruction that came upon the earth and the weeping and wailing and the darkness and the silence at the time of the Savior's crucifiction and resurrection. I gained a greater appreciation for the Savior. One of the participants in the pagea was a little Russian woman who was not a member of the church. Her daughter was a member, but not the mother. On night after the performance she sought me out. I was still dressed in the robes and had the beard and wig, etc. She said wanted to be baptized and wanted me to do it. The next day we went to Rochester to a chapel and I baptized her. (Year later her daughter served a mission call under me at the Provo LDS Employment center.)

When I came home from the pageant I continued to date some special girls. They were mostly Cougarettes, flag twirler cheer leaders. I also dated the vice president of culture at BYU. Her name was Maria Toronto from Spanish Fork. I had of fun and enjoyed dancing at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City. The singles dances were held every Thursday nig

On Thanksgiving Thursday in 1962 I took a date to the dance. Since it was a singles dance you were not supposed to t date. My date danced the first dance with her cousin, Robert Clark, then he brought her back to me. While they were dancing, I had an opportunity to scope the crowd. I saw Ralle't Christiansen out on the dance floor. My, she looked good had known her for a long time because my brother, Bill, had dated her sister Danielle. Ralle't was always a cute little thi but was always too young. When I was sixteen, she was only twelve. When I was twenty and went on a mission, she w only sixteen. But now, I was twenty three and she was nineteen. She had really grown up! I took Linda, my date, to the sidelines and cut in on Ralle't. The music ended all too soon. Then, the announcer said, "This next dance will be a ladie choice." Ralle't said, "Oh, Dear, I'll have to take you to the sidelines, this dance is a ladies choice." I thought to myself, " little snipe", and I started walking away. She grabbed my arm and said, "I was only kidding. There is no one I would rath dance with than you!" She melted my heart. I tried to take her home from the dance, but she said, "My mother always s ‘You go home with those what brung ya'" I WENT HOME FROM THAT DANCE AND TOLD MY MOTHER THAT I HAD THE GIRL THAT I WAS GOING TO MARRY!! We dated quite steadily for the next month, and on December 23, Joseph Smith's birthday, I asked her to marry me. She agreed, and two months later on February 28, 1963 we were married in Logan Temple by President A. George Raymond.

After five or six months we decided it was time to have a baby. Our baby daughter Andrea Ralle't Lund was born March 1964, during my last year of college. Rallet didn't have an easy time with child birth because of her previous back surge The doctors worked hard and really pulled hard with forceps to help the baby be born. We said a lot of prayers in her be and the Lord blessed us with a beautiful baby girl that looked as if she had just gone twelve rounds with Muhammed Ali lost. I thought she was beautiful even though she was so beaten up. I finally got my degree from Brigham Young University in 1965 in Sociology and Human Development and Family

Relationships. It took me a little longer than most because I had to improve the grades that I had my first few years of s when I played. I took school very seriously and re-took many classes. After a lot of hard work and with the encouragem my wife, I finally pulled my grade-point up to the honor roll my last two semesters. Twenty five years later at a fireside w was asked to speak, I saw Dr Joseph Simmons, the chairman of the Sociology Department at BYU. When I greeted him name he asked if he knew me. I told him I had taken several classes from him...." no", I said, ...." I only took one class f you, but I took it several times". He just chuckled. He was tough on grades.

We moved our little family to Pleasanton, California, where I worked as a dormitory counselor for the Job Corps. I was s to death! I had a dormitory of eighty Job Corps boys. They ranged in age from 16 to 21. They were either high school d outs or had been kicked out. They were from all over the united states. Most of them were Black or Hispanic and were t dudes. I had never been around Blacks much before and I didn't know what to expect, and the only words I knew in Sp were swear words.

My first day at Camp Parks Job Corps Center, as I was walking across campus, I saw a great big Black guy coming righ me. He was shaking his finger at me and saying, "I know you, you are the guy that called me BABY HUEY when I playe basketball at Utah State." I had been dating a flag twirler and had a seat on the second row from the floor, and yes, I us get pretty exercised during the games and did what I could to rattle the players and the referees. Brother ! Did I rememb him? I'll say I did! His name was Darnel Haney and he was 6'8" tall. I was scared to death!~ He put out his great big ha and shook mine and welcomed me to Camp Parks. Whew! We had a good laugh and before long, we were good friend When they announced a new Job Corps Center being opened in Clearfield, Utah, I jumped at the chance to move back Utah (and with a thousand dollar raise.)

We lived in an apartment in Clearfield, Utah until we had someone try and break into our apartment. When that happen decided to look elsewhere for an apartment. We had the newspaper on the dash of the car with the apartments for rent section when we stopped for gas. The fellow washing our windows asked if we were looking for a place to rent. We told we were and he said he had a house that he was buying and needed to get out of it. We could take over his payments just a few dollars a month more than we had been paying for rent. We took it. It was in Layton (Robin's Park, just off Hil Road. Lisa and Shaun were born while we lived in Layton. Lisa on February 20, 1968 and Shaun March 17, 1969.

Also while we were in Layton, we got word that Ralle't had gone through the change of life and we would not be able to any more children. She knew then why the prompting had been so strong to have another baby so soon after Lisa. A fe years later we had an opportunity to adopt a baby. We had talked about it before, but I was hesitant. I felt that if Heaven Father wanted us to have more children, we would have our own. Then, we got a call from Katie and Ron telling us abo girls who were having babies and going to give them up for adoption. We decided to go for it. We were all set when the phone call came that a little girl had been born and all we had to do was go to Washington D.C. and pick her up. Then, got a disappointing call saying that we could not have her because the grandparents lived close to us and they would k We were sick and just about gave up. They told us the next baby would be born in a few months. The first little girl was to a family in Arizona. She was a little blond, angular faced girl that went to a family of blonds.... with angular faces.

In September 1972 we got a call saying that our baby was born. It was a girl. The mother didn't have any insurance and to have the baby "C" section. We would have to have the money to pay her hospital bill before they would release the b us. I sold my small fishing boat, my Radial arm saw, and collected debts from several people who owed me money. I ha about $800.00 saved toward a new boat. We gathered all we could and sent it off to Virginia to pay the hospital bill. Inst our having to pay for airline tickets, Katie and Ron said they would bring the baby when Ron came to LDS general conference. He was a bishop and had a ticket to conference. Wendy was born on September 28, 1972, and Ron broug to us on an airplane about October 3, 1972. She was a little wrinkled pumpkin, just five days old. We took the whole fam the airport to pick her up and tears were shed all around. Shaun believed that babies were delivered at the airport on a silver bird. No stork story for him!

We had to wait a whole year before the adoption could be finalized, but finally the day came when we went to the court house in Farmington, Utah and appeared before the judge with our petition. He asked if anyone in the court room had a reason why this adoption should not be granted, no one spoke up. He banged the gavel and pronounced her ours. Wen had been very quiet up to this point and when the final decree was pronounced, she let out a "YIPPI!". The judge comm that it sounded as if she was in agreement, too, so it was final. We were then able to take her to the temple and have h sealed to us. I have teased Wendy many times about how she could have been named HYDROSWIFT, or EVENRUDE CHRIS CRAFT or something similar because she was my boat money. She has been a lot more fun than a boat!

During the time I worked for Job Corps I went to school at the University of Utah and got a master's degree in Manpowe Planning and Administration through the college of business. I graduated in 1972. A few years later I left Job Corps to a a position as Residential Treatment Director for Project Reality, a drug treatment program in Salt Lake City. I worked wi drug addicts for about a year, but didn't enjoy it much. I didn't see much success. A few weeks later we moved to Canad go into real estate with some LDS people.

We have seen many miracles in our lives and seen how we were guided in the choices that we made. It was miraculou we got to Canada. We sold our home in less than a week and were on the road for Victoria, British Columbia, where Ru Butler, my brother-in-law was teaching at the University of Victoria. We became Landed Immigrants, took the real estate licence exam and passed it and started selling real estate. We made enough money that first year to build a home in O Utah, and planned on moving back. However, the stake president, Howard Biddulph, had other plans. He asked me to b branch president, build a chapel and fill it. Then, we could feel good about going back to the United States. We stayed t more years, built the Sidney Branch chapel and brought 14 families into the church. When we baptized Fred and Janet McCullough, I knew that we could go back to Utah. A month later, we were packed and gone.

We moved to Utah but couldn't find work. I spent 6 months unemployed. We had rented our house and couldn't get the renters to move so, we rented. I finally took a job selling cars for Rusty Butler's dad in Ontario, Oregon. We sold our Or home to liquidate our debts in Canada and moved to Ontario. I sold cars for a year and then got a chance to manage a Deseret Industries store in Ontario. That was April 12, 1979. I was forty years old when I began that new career.

Deseret Industries moved us to Burley, Idaho, where we stayed for three years and then they said they needed us in De Colorado to take on three stores. After a couple of years I received a promotion to be Area Manager over the Employme Centers in the Northern Plains. I had employment centers in Billings, Cheyenne, Kansas City, Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, and Denver. I enjoyed traveling and training and then I asked to come home to Utah. We moved to Provo in 19 built us a new home and don't care if we never move again. I continued to work for the Church as manager of employm services over the Utah South Area. I had nine employment centers to supervise and about 60 missionaries to run them. retired October 31, 2002, after 23 ½ years of working for the Church.

During the last fourteen years we have been involved in service to the community and the church. I served as branch president over an apartment house branch for three of those years. Rallet and I have been ordinance workers at the Mt Timpanogas temple. Rallet and I will finish putting together three more family history books and then serve somewhere We have all of our children married and sealed in the temple and have 25 grandchildren.

Our first Grandson, Kazj Briggs is serving a mission in Louisville, Ky. Since retirement I have helped Rallet with her jewelry business, "Rallet Designs" . We now have ten designers in our company and have added a studio onto our home to accommodate the business. We have raised money for Cancer Survivors, Hope home (a shelter home for pregnant un-wed girls), Women Helping Women, Catholic family and Child Services, Hospice and the Humanitarian Services of the LDS Church. We are enjoying being creative and making beau one-of-a-kind jewelry. We have twenty five stores carrying our product and have our own web site. Rallet.biz. Check us

2007 UPDATES: I am fast reaching the end of a list which I made in high school and labeled, "This will never happen to me!" Never say NEVER!! I get teary when I think of beautiful fresh youth trembling on the brink of life as they gratuate from high school, full of ho and dreams with the energy and desire to fulfill them all. "Older and wiser" is my current label. It is humbling and hearte to see what I have not and have achieved. Life is good, but not what I expected! I am married to Dr. M. Lyman Moody who practiced Internal Medicine in Provo for 30 years, and most of those years we both married to another spouse. He lost his wife to death from cancer; my husband asked me for a divorce after 30 yea marriage. During those 30 years I lived in Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Austin, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Salt City. I came back to Provo (much to my delight and surprise) after a mutual friend introduced me to Lyman and we were married in May, 1997. After graduating from BYU in Child Development and Family Relations in 1961, I served a mission for the LDS Church France. Since I have married Lyman Moody, we have served two more missions, based in Madrid, Spain, and now in Frankfurt, Germany. I am the contented mother of three wonderful children, two sons and a daughter, all married and have 7 grandchildren ( to be 8). Aug 10, 2006 email: I have been cruising the fabulous website. I have not taken the time to check it for many months. It is wonderful!!! But, I admit, it is shocking to see how many of our number are no longer with us, and listening to that music of our youth as I those faces so familiar in the era that we listened to that music brings me to almost a wrenching nostalgia! I noticed tha JoAnn Means is posted as one of the "lost" ones. She was in my ward, Provo 8th, as we grew up together. She passed over 20 years ago. I think she was teaching school out in the Uintah Basin, if my memory serves me correctly (and it m not!) Thanks for all of your good work!! Evelyn Oaks Hammond Moody

I am looking forward to this 50th Class Reunion. Thanks to the committee that is putting it together! Bravo!! Of course I will be there.....with bells on. Or is that appropriate?!!! Oh, I WILL wear something else, too! I did not stop to if I need to send you a check soon. I will look carefully and see what I need to do. Greetings and encouragement to you all!

It has been 50 years of bliss and we now have a direct descendants numbering 52 including 6 children with spouses, 25 grandchildren with many spouses and 7 great grand children. We have been truly blessed! The party took us back 50 years and made us look forward to the PHS reunion coming this summer. See you all there! If any of you come to the bay area, we would love to see you. All the best, Brent and Jeniel Dickson

My death was a result of bad health and good living "Believing as I do that when a person dies we lose a library, I was a husband, father and grandfather, an artist, wood ca sculptor of stone, sailor (United States Navy Corpsman), para-archeologist, museum registrar, x-ray technician, photographer, historian, writer, hunter, lifetime NRA member, free mountain man, and avid fly and flat/saltwater fisherma I've buried some good friends and one good dog, and learned and forgotten countless times that life is a limited-time of was raised in Preston, Dubois, and Gooding, Idaho where I spent almost every waking moment on the Big and Little W Rivers. I was the oldest of three children, and made my own rules as many have seen me do. The family moved first to Salt Lake City Rose Park area and then to Provo where I graduated from Provo High in the great year of 1957. Soon after, I joined the U.S. Navy. A ye later I married my high school sweetheart, JoAnn Farrer of Provo, in Los Angeles, California, after she graduated (from High). We were high school sweethearts. Among other, lesser assignments, I was assigned to VF92 fighter squadron o Alameda, California and was deployed to all five aircraft carriers, on the west coast at that time, and three Naval and M air stations before leaving the Navy in 1963. We put our anchor down in Salt Lake City and then Murray, Utah, where w have spent the years raising five of six children, and I in pursuit of better hunting and bigger fish. I was preceded in dea my parents, sister (Sandra), and daughter (Shanna Lee). I am survived by my wife and children, Shane (Ann) of Kearns Patrick K. (Gaye) of Lehi; Taryn (Paul) Olds of Ogden; Mike A. (Kathy) of West Jordan; Josh L. of Murray; a mess of gra kids and great-grandkids, brother, Gary Roe and wife Darese; and the best friends a man can have. Memorial services, garden party, will be held in the outdoors surrounded by blue sky or even waterfowl weather! My ashes will be consigne partly to the side of my wife and soul mate, and the rest scattered at Flaming Gorge, or Wood Tick, Ferron Canyon. The will be conducted by family and friends. I'd like it to be a time to share memories and laughing and talking as though I'm with you. I've always felt people could dress as they wanted, and always felt dressed up in skins or Levis and boots, sh tank tops and sandals. My family and friends are invited to wear their favorite, casual dress, western or other (skins?). I of flowers, I would suggest donations be made to Ducks Unlimited, the NRA, the Mule Deer and Elk Foundations, or the Nature Conservancy. Suit your fancy, or take a kid or good friend fishing, or to dinner ----- or both! My graveside service be Fri., June 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East. A visitation for all of my family and friends will be Thurs. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street. Together they had three wonderful children, Michelle, Scott and Amy. there are no words to describe how grea a man he was. The qualities that he possessed are far too innumerable to me they begin with his quick wit and his humble spirit and continue through to his extraordinary strength and unconditional His greates passions in life were his family and the outdoors. Being a grandpa to Brinley brought him great joy. He enjo the simple things in life. It didn't take much to make him happy. He always had project in the works, whether it be resori 1965 ford Mustang or oil painting a photograph of his daughters. Some of his fondest memories were of hunting and fis with his son. Among some ohis greates quailities was his sense of humor. No matter how poorly he felt, he was never too ill to make laugh. Dar was the humblest of men. His faith and belief in all people shone throughout his exemplary life. his kindness and compassion towards others was extraordinary. To know dar was to love Dar. He had a heart of gold. His selflessness w unconditional. He would give all if it meant helping another. His strength in struggling with earthly challenges was upara he continued to persevere no matter what the circumstances.

2007 UPDATE: A lot of water under the bridge since 1957. At that time Bob and I were living in Montrose, California (small community between La Canada, La Crescenta and Glendale (east of Burbank). I was teaching ESL for L>A> School District in Gra Hills and Bob was just getting started with his videography business after leaving L>A> County Supervisors Office as C Staff to one of the supervisors. Most of our five children were still at home. In the intervening years I moved on to Van Nuys Community Adult School as a teacher in the High School Diploma Pro Our children completed their educations, served missions for the Mormon Church, married, etc. (currently we have 14 grandchildren). I retired in 2003, Bob retired from his videography business and in 2004 we joined the California equity exodus after 35 in Glendale/Montrose. We are now living in Washington, Utah (next to St. George). We hired an architect/contractor and heavily involved in the planning and construction of our current home. We love it here. Ancestors on both my father's and mother's side were pioneers and original settlers in many of the communities in Southern Utah---Cedar City, Summmit (north of Cedar), Enoch (northwest of Cedar), Virgin and North C (Zion Canyon), Washington and Hurricane. I spent several years of my childhood in Hurricane and was homesick for a time after we moved to Provo. I have red dirt genes. Our kids are scattered all over---Smithfield,Utah (Cache Valley), Redmond, Washington, Rosamond, California (near Edwards Air Force Base), Meridian, Idaho, and Burbank, California. We see more of them now that we are more centra lodfa5ed and they like to bring the grandchildren to swim in our pool. Water skiing is a thing of the past. I'm now into water exercise (after spinal surgery, hip replacement, etc.). I still like to r Currently I am enjoying many of the great books out in the last several years on the revolutionary period. Now that we'r finally settled down again, I would like to write a life history but I m now worried about remembering it. I'm interested in genealogy and associated historical information. Like to be invol our ward. We're currently ward missionaries. Looking forward to the 2007 Class Reunion. The last time I saw any of you, I think was at the 1987 class reunion. Than the Class Reunion Committee and the many hours that you have spent and to the Provo High '57 Web Site and to all th contributors. Enjoyed learning more about everyone.

***At Reunion*** Steele, Darryl 3616 Dover Hill Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84121 USA 801.943,7971 [email protected] Spouse/Partner: Lynda Webb Steele In 1956 I transferred from B Y High to Provo High so I could play on our State Basketball Championship Team. During t summers and after school I worked at my father’s Conoco gas station at 5th West and Center in Provo. (I probably sold some gas back then when it was only .24 cents a gallon.) After graduation, I served six months of active duty in the Arm through the local Utah National Guard, 1457th Engineer Battalion.

I later attended BYU where I joined the Goldbricker Social Unit and enjoyed all of those activities until I left to serve on a mission to California. I spent nearly a year of my mission in the Mission Home located on the grounds of the Los Angele Temple. It was a unique experience! Upon my return I found that the Social Units were gone so I became part of a grou organized and formed the original chapter of Cougar Club. I served as the 1963 BYU Homecoming Chairman and as th Executive Assistant to the V.P. of Social. During this time I met and married Lynda Webb from Lehi and we moved into t new King Henry apartments. I studied advertising, public relations, marketing and worked at Levan’s men store during t school year and at Geneva Steel during the summer.

Upon graduation I joined the marketing dept. of Mobil Oil Corp. in southern California. Two years later I accepted a pos as Director, Cooperative Programs for the Foreign Study League (FSL) which resulted in the opportunity to travel over m of Europe. My FSL experience with High Schools and School Districts resulted in a new opportunity with Walt Disney Productions (Disneyland) where I managed their ‘Grad Nite’ program. Disneyland was truly a “fantasy” experience, eve though I never got to dress up as “Goofy”.

When my wife’s father passed away we determined that it was time to return to Utah. I secured a position with KSL Rad where I spent the majority of my years as the National Sales/Marketing Manager and helped develop, manage and sell Sports and the Utah Jazz NBA. For 12 years I traveled across most of America meeting with executives of the major Advertising Agencies. I ended my career in broadcasting as the General Manager of KCPX-FM (K98.7) and KUTR-AM. the past 15 years I have worked on various projects as a fledgling entrepreneur. Some family members say that I’ve be retired for a long time but maybe that’s because I’ve been going to Montana fishing for over 30 years.

Lynda and I have 5 children. They have all gone to either BYU or Utah, as have their spouses. Two sons and one spou attorneys. One son is a seminary teacher and one son is finishing at the “U” intent on becoming a dentist. Our only dau is a homemaker and mother. We have 12 grandchildren.

We all encounter those forks in the road as we journey through life. Some of my choices of which road to travel were du Others were good, but all of it brought experience and growth. I’ve been blessed and I was lucky in Love. Perhaps my personal best, besides marrying a beautiful, wonderful woman, was when I accepted the challenge to play Tevye in “Fid

on the Roof” in a production at the Promised Valley Playhouse. I have never done anything more frightening or rewardin with the exception of being a parent. My family has been the most satisfying thing that I have ever done and it still bring the greatest joy in my life.

I feel fortunate at this time of my life to have good health and still be married to my husband and best friend, Deon, who also in very good health. We are blessed to have had six children and ten beautiful grandchildren.

We live in a pretty little town called Leeds, Utah, where we have a perfect view of Pine Valley Mountain. We still work in family grocery business with four of our children.

I am very lucky to have my wonderful 'White Elephant' friends. We enjoy getting together for club or traveling together a often as we can. We never quit laughing and it keeps us young. We will miss our dear friend, Alta Giles Peay, who was first one of our group to pass away in May. She was our great party planner.

My hobbies are playing the piano and organ. I also enjoy working on the computer doing lots of book work and fun thing keep my brain working.

I am so impressed with the web site that our class members have made for us. It is so nice to know that we have so ma great computer brains in our class. It was fun to see that Margene Symons and I share the same birthday, May 22th (an great Gemini). I found that Jean Clark, Irene Ivie and Don Liston are my neighbors in Southern Utah and Lonnie Gleave snowbird. I am still laughing at Brandt Ellsworth's story. Thanks to all of you for sharing your computer knowledge with u we could enjoy these letters.

After 50 years of being out of school though, with all of the changes that have taken place with our looks and appearan feel we need to remember only to look at each other with our hearts and not with our eyes. ha-ha!!!
