Petros Baptist Church Wedding Policy We are delighted that you have chosen our facilities for your wedding ceremony. Our Church believes marriage can only take place between a man and woman as it is written in God’s word. Because you, the Bride and Groom, are going through such a sacred and significant ceremony for the first time you may not be familiar with the wedding policies set forth by the Church. This agreement has been prepared to describe basic details connected with that ceremony. Please read it carefully and sign the attached form indicating your agreement to abide by this policy. Weddings, rehearsals, rehearsal dinners or receptions will not be permitted without your signed agreement. The Church reserves the right to approve or deny requests at its discretion.

Policies 1.

Scheduling: All Church weddings must be scheduled on the Church calendar and cleared by the Pastor and the Wedding Committee.

2.

Counseling: The Pastor or performing minister shall counsel with both the Bride and Groom prior to the wedding date.

3.

Damage: Parties using the Church for weddings shall assume full responsibility for damage to the Church Building and properties. Damage repair will be done with oversight of the Properties Committee. If repairs are not made the deposit fee will not be returned.

4.

Members: The Church belongs to all its members. Persons that are active or infrequent members or are the daughter/son of members are permitted to use the church and fellowship hall. A deposit of $100.00 is required when the Wedding Agreement is signed and returned. This deposit will be returned to the payer once the church has been cleaned and all furniture returned to its original placement. Approved October 2009

5.

Non-Members: Persons that are non-members of the Church will be charged a fee for the use of the Sanctuary and an additional fee for use of the Fellowship Hall. A deposit of $100.00 is required when the Wedding Agreement is signed and returned to the Pastor or Wedding Committee member. This deposit will be returned to the payer once the church has been cleaned and all furniture returned to its original placement. See # 12 for Fee Schedule.

6.

Janitor: The services of the Janitor during weddings, rehearsals, rehearsal dinners and receptions are apart from his/her normal duties. The wedding party is required to clean (includes sweeping, vacuuming carpets and moping if needed), moving furniture to its prior position and removal of all trash from the building(s). All areas immediately outside the doors and walkways must be cleaned of rice, bird seed and trash. If the Wedding Party requires the services of the Janitor to assist in cleaning of the building(s) and trash removal an additional fee will be assessed. Arrangements for this service must be done at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding, preferably at the time the Wedding Agreement is signed and returned. See # 12 for Fee Schedule.

7.

Music: Music for the wedding and rehearsal must meet the approval of the Wedding Committee and/or the Pastor. The wedding party should make special arrangements with the Church’s musicians for availability if they are needed. The Wedding Committee can assist you in contacting the musicians that attend our Church. The Wedding Party should plan their music with chosen musicians using only music suitable for the Place and Hour. If there are differing opinions concerning use of any music, the Pastor, Deacons and the Wedding Committee will consult with the Bride/Groom. They will make a final decision as to whether the music may be used.

8.

Sound System: No person outside those who are authorized by the Church may operate our Sound System. It is the responsibility of the wedding party to contact the Wedding Committee and arrange a meeting with an authorized operator. No equipment used with the sound system can be moved without a Wedding Committee member or Sound System operator being present. Approved October 2009

9.

Florist and Decorations: For the protection of our facilities, certain policies regarding use of candles, flower containers, etc. is rigidly enforced. No nails or tack will be permitted in connection with decorations. Nothing shall be placed on the organ or piano. Carpeting and furniture must be protected from candle wax, water, etc. If there are any questions concerning these policies your florist may contact a Wedding Committee member, pastor or janitor. Access to the building can be arranged through the Wedding Committee Member(s) working with you. Typically decorations are placed in the Sanctuary one day prior to the Wedding Ceremony.

10.

Conduct: Neither rice, confetti, glitter, nor other materials may be used inside any of the Church buildings. Tobacco (chewing or smoking), alcoholic beverages, and intoxicants of any kind are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Their use will result in immediate cancellation of the wedding. Dancing is not permitted. To avoid embarrassment, we strongly suggest that the bride and groom make these policies clearly known to their guests before they arrive for the rehearsal and the wedding.

11.
