Personal Project Proposal 1) Proposed project: For my Personal Project, I plan to create an official website for the ISB Model United Nations club. This website would serve as the club’s internet communications and research device, and would also help with recruitment in the spring.

2) Why I am choosing this project, and what essential question I am answering: I am choosing this project because MUN is my favorite school activity. I believe that it is highly underrated, and that more people should be aware of not only how much fun it is, but how it is directly related to the actual United Nations and how the world deals with its conflicts. I also believe that although a website would be the perfect way to combine my computer skills with my passion for MUN. My essential question would be: “How can a simulation educate students about modern world issues?”

3) Which areas of interaction will be investigated through this project: My project would most directly relate to Community and Service, Homo faber, and Environment, because of the fact that MUN is like the United Nations, and the purpose of the UN is to bring the world together and to solve international conflicts. Community and Service is related to my project because MUN educates students about how to build a global community, and how to help others. Homo faber is also related to my project because of the fact that most global issues are results of a manmade error or wrongdoing. Also, Environment is related to my project in the sense that MUN teaches students about the world’s limited resources and how to manage them. It also educates students on what each person’s responsibility is as a global citizen.
