Ms. Wagoner’s Weekly Newsletter April 20 – April 24, 2009 What have we been up to? This week in math, we finished our unit on geometry. We wrapped up this unit by talking about 3-dimensional geometric shapes. Students are now able to count the faces, edges, and vertices of any polyhedron. We took a big unit test on Friday, so look for that to come home sometime next week. We continued working in our four different reading groups. Students are getting close to finishing their books and are making predictions about what will happen at the end of their stories. We should finish our books next week and students will complete a book report on the book they read. Students continued their Social Studies unit with Mrs. Stonehouse. They watched a video on the Civil War and learned about the Gettysburg Address. Students also started MCA testing this week and completed the math portion. They worked hard during the test and got to spend a little extra time outside enjoying the nice weather. Next week, we will continue with MCA Reading testing. Please see the schedule for the dates and times. It is very important that your child is in school those days and eats a good breakfast.
