Submission of Paper Manuscripts are invited for the 3rd Academic Symposium on “The Influence of Sociocultural Pressures on Thought Processes”. Researchers interested in submitting papers are requested to submit a soft copy (Typed in English, MS Word format) of the manuscript to
[email protected]. Accepted papers/posters will be published (CD format) in the Proceedings which will be distributed during the symposium. The

manuscript should follow the recommendations of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association(6th Edition). Please refer to the guidelines for manuscript preparation. Guidelines for manuscript preparation Format Length of articles: should not exceed 2500 words of main text including tables and figures and references (not including abstract & title page). Typeface: Times New Roman with 12-point font size. Line spacing: Double space between all text lines of the manuscript except in tables and figures Margins: Leave uniform margins of 1inch at the top, bottom, left and right of A4 size page Line alignment: Do not justify lines. Use left alignment leaving right margin uneven. Order of manuscript pages: Arrange the pages of the manuscript as follows: Page1, Title page: it includes title, author byline, institutional affiliation, subtheme of the symposium on which the paper expected to be presented, an address of correspondence with telephone, fax and email. Page2, Abstract and keywords: start on separate page. It should not exceed 250 words. Up to six key words may be included in a separate line below the abstract. The abstract comprises of the problem under investigation, participants, and study method including sample size, measures used, data-gathering procedure, research design, findings, conclusions, and the implications. Page3, Main Text: start on a separate page. The main text includes: Introduction (the importance of the problem, theoretical or practical implications, review of relevant literature, hypothesis and objectives) Method (participants, measures used, research design) Results, and Discussion References (for detailed guidance on citing sources and preparing the reference list, refer to APA guidelines). Appendices Note: Tables and Figures should be inserted in the text wherever appropriate (for detailed guidance on preparing tables and figures, refer to APA guidelines). Guidelines for Preparation of Poster We request you to prepare the poster using the following guidelines: Poster display area: The prescribed size of a poster is A2 size paper (42cm x 59.4cm). Posters should be prepared from lightweight material for easy mounting.

Contents of poster: The poster should contain the title, author/co-author names and institute affiliation/s. The title of the presentation should be in Upper Case. The body of the presentation should include Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Method, Results, Discussion and Conclusions/Implications. The font size of the poster should be at least 32+ for text and 38+ for titles. The spacing between lines should be at least 1.5. Language: The poster should be prepared in English. Illustrations: Avoid unnecessary art work, however you may use colored paper, photographs, drawings and other illustrations to enhance the quality of your presentation. Presentation: The poster will be on display for the entire day allocated for your presentation. The presenting author should be physically present beside the poster at the time indicated for the interaction session which will be informed by a special correspondence. The presenting authors are responsible for the safety of their posters.
