What is PCM ??? ► PCM
is Known as Physical Connectivity Module. ► It is Detailed Graphical Representation of the MW & Fiber Network Topology (Generally in MS excel). ► It Actually gives the Total Used Capacity in a Given Network. ► It Also gives the Actual E1 routing from BSC to BTS end. ► It Also contains the Leased Line Utilization at Particular Node.
Inputs Required - I Field Inputs : ► BSC wise / Area wise / Tx Hub wise MW & Fiber Connectivity ► In MW connectivity - Total Capacity of Each hop from Each Node ► In Fiber connectivity - End to End Fiber location and No. of E1 Running on the Fiber
Input Required - II System Inputs: ► Daily RF Logs ► ZEEI Report ► ZESI Report ► ZDTI Report ► ZERO Report

Process To Assign ET Port for New Site in BSC STEP-1 Check “ET Details” sheet in PCM for Free ET Port which has Cable and Card Installed at BSC End STEP-2 Check ZEEI Report for that Particular Free ET whether Any Site is Already created or Not.
Process To Assign ET Port for New Site in BSC STEP-3 Check “PCM Plan” sheet in PCM for that particular Free ET Port whether a New Site has been sent for creation & still yet not Created OR SS7 Signaling is there on that ET Port. To Check SS7 Signaling for a Particular ET you can Contact Local OMC or there is a command on Local NMS Terminal “ZWUP:xx:;” (where xx is the ET Port)

In the Network A NEW Site can Come up with Various Configurations Like I. II. III. IV.

New Town (i.e. 2+2+2) Infill Site With EDGE (i.e. 4+4+4) Capacity Site (i.e. 3+3+3) IBS Site (i.e. 1+1)
We have to provide Traffic Plan For Any of the above Said sites. Traffic Plan Maps the TRX & BTS signaling on E1.

E1 = 32 time slots ► 1 TRX = 8 Sub time Slots ► 1 Sub Time Slot = 8 Kbps ► 1 TRX Signaling = 16 Kbps ► P1/P2 = Cascade Indication ► BCFSIG = O&M 16 Kbps Signaling ► MCB/LCB = Loop topology
