CAREER SUMMARY I am an achievement oriented professional with Software Test Team Management experience within the Space, Telecommunications and IT sectors. The foundation of my career is a sound understanding of software testing principles, information technology, telecommunication networks and a broad knowledge of business processes. Employment History Organisation: Astrium EADS Period: May 2005 – Present Position: Skynet5 Management Segment – QA Specialist For this high profile £100M Project, I am a key member of the Project Team. I carry out quality assurance audits and feedback the results to senior management and the project teams. I provide support to the project teams and assist in defining their quality plan. I review all issues / non conformances found during Integration testing of the Skynet 5 Management System. I have created, and now maintain, an issues Database incorporating a Configuration Management Risk Log. I attend a weekly non conformance review board. I ensure the supplier takes responsibility for problem rectification. I create work-packages for each Build Iteration, utilizing the forecasted fix dates to plan conclusive regression testing for individual issues. I use DOORs, a Requirements Capture tool, and SPRINT, a Configuration Control Application, to assist me in my duties. I regularly provide metrics to Senior Management within Astrium. Organisation: DHL Period: May 2004 – Mar 2005 Position: Product Release- QA Specialist I was responsible for ensuring the rollout of Enhancements, Bug Fixes and new Programs into the “Live Environment” had been subjected to the appropriate levels of quality control and technical testing. My role primarily focussed on managing work streams of consolidated periodical changes to the IT infrastructure. I was responsible for ensuring that the appropriate resources had been assigned, I would review and approve the Implementation Plan, Back Out Plan and Release Notes and when satisfied garnish with them Head of Department approval signatures, these quality assurance measures ensured all changes were “Released to Production” in a controlled and manageable environment. I was also responsible for the establishment of detailed processes which have been adopted by the Business globally. Organisation: ITNET Period: Jan 2004 – Apr 2004 Position: Infrastructure Manager My key responsibilities were to devise, record, plan and monitor all the Integration Test activities required to achieve client confidence in the supplied services. I utilized Prince 2, RUP and Best Practice Management tools to Plan and Disseminate Project Information in a timely and targeted approach, ensuring stakeholder buy in and transparent project reporting.

Organisation: Railtech Solutions Period: Mar 2003 – Jan 2004 Position: Software Test Team Manager Client: Network Rail, Highways Authority, And Bulgarian Rail. As Software Test Team Manager I was brought in to create a software testing team from scratch. Responsible for devising test cases, test scripts and test matrixes for C++, PHP, ASP, ASP.net, CGI, Java and SQL components of the development. I was responsible for interviewing and hiring applicants, I ensured junior team members of the team were able to manually convert specifications and requirements into demonstrate-able Test Scripts. I used RUP and Prince 2 Methodologies daily during the development and testing cycles. I provided the key inputs to the design of the companies bug log, ensuring issues found during testing were immediately flagged to the development team, once fixes had been provided I created work packages for the testers and was responsible for ensuring the bug log was updated, providing closure statements on all expedited issues. Organisation: NTL Telecommunications Period: Mar 1999 – Jan 2003 Position: Project/Programme Manager Client: Worldcom, BT, Premium TV. Firstly involved in the implementation of a £43M UK wide network rollout, comprising a new National Optical Network, and High Capacity Switching and Multiplexing equipment. This Telco rollout involved new hardware suppliers and was the largest value infrastructure project undertaken by NTL in this period of sustained growth. I was the key interface between the supplier and the business and was responsible for ensuring delivery lead times were met. I Utilised Prince 2 and other management techniques to ensured this high profile, high value project and it’s dependencies proceeded to the operational environment in a controlled and manageable series of phases. I also concurrently managed several smaller projects with values ranging from £300,000 to £6M leaning heavily on my years of testing Telco networks to fulfil this demanding role. Organisation: Alcatel Networks Period: June 1996 – Mar 1999 Position: Project Manager Responsible for Project Managing simultaneous worldwide Network Rollouts up to £6M+ (Technolgies and protocols encountered included SDH / SONET / VPN / Advanced Optical, ATM, ISDN30, INM, NMC. SH, RM, TCP/IP) I managed geographically dispersed, cross-functional technical teams comprising of up to 30 engineers. I produced Test Strategies, approved and oversaw Software Updates, Network Migrations and Equipment Upgrades. I regularly produced Gantt Charts (MS Projects) to update key stakeholders and to report on progress regularly. I was also responsible for controlling the hiring, delivery and tracking of high value rented test equipment. (Annual Budget £¾M). Responsibilities also included ensuring Engineering Installation and Test Results documentation covering the Project Lifecycle were completed by the on-site engineers and approved by the client. Organisation: Nynex, Orange PCS, Ericsson, Cherry Comms, Period: June 1992 – May 1996 Position: Consultant Commissioning Engineer I was employed by the Organisations detailed above, as a senior commissioning engineer, I was responsible for, conducting standalone, link and network testing on STM16 SDH/ PDH, 2nd generation mobile PCS networks and Broadband cable TV Networks. Other duties included the safekeeping of high value rented test equipment and tools, maintaining site logs, completing test result sheets and fault reports. Conducting fault finding and rectification activities in sites and networks throughout the UK, able to work

on own initiative and have the ability to be a team player to ensure co-coordinated integration activities. Organisation: Royal Navy Period: June 1985 – May 1992 Position: Systems Engineer As a Weapons Engineer specialized in Radio Communications, I underwent intensive theoretical and practical technical training. I gained a broad knowledge of Electronic Principles and was trained in the practical aspects of faultfinding on complex electronic equipment including; but not limited to: Radar (primary and secondary), Sonar (active and Passive), Navigational Systems, Communication Systems, MF-Microwave, including satellite. I gained practical experience during three years on board sea-going warships, I gained promotion and at a relatively young age became a “Leader of men” I spent a further year at sea and was the supervisor of a team of 4 engineers responsible for maintaining the ships external communication and satellite systems. I was then employed as a Systems Engineer based at a NATO Communications Centre for 2 years prior to leaving the service.
