PAST SIMPLE AND PAST CONTINUOUS
Rule: -A: S+ R.V.: V-ed I.V.: F2 -I: Did+ S+ V ? -N: S+ didn’t+ V -It expresses: A)a PAST and FINISHED action at a certain moment or a period in the past. Eg;In that moment I stood up, I turned pff the tape recorder/cassette player, I sat again and I didn’t say anything else/I said nothing. B)a TYPICAL SITUATION in the past which is no longer available in the present. Eg;In those times people leaved very hard/in difficult conditions. In the Middle Ages the people didn’t knew the advantages of the electric power/electricity.
Rule: -A: S+ was/were+ V-ing -I: Was/were+ S+ V-ing -N: S+ was/were+ not+V-ing
-It expresses: -a PAST action, perceived in PROGRESS at a certain moment in the past.
