Brief Number One – Music Promotion Task You have been hired by SSP Records to manage the promotion of one of their new acts. You have been contracted to create one music video package, a DVD cover for the album and an A4 magazine advertisement promoting the DVD.

Brief Number One – Music Promotion Planning You will be required to: 1.

Find copyright free song or artist that you have the rights and permissions to promote. Create a treatment that outlines the way in which you will brand this artist across three different mediums. 2.Pitch your ideas to the class and evaluate their feedback ( post the video and evaluation on you tube/ blogger) and get into a groups of 2-3. 3.Amalgamate and develop the best idea and produce a glogger mood board with images/ inspiration videos/ sounds – that clearly defines the brand essence of your artist. Share this to your blogger account. 4.Allocate job roles outlining who will be responsible for each job during each stage of production. 5. Conduct at least 2 forms of audience research ( using new technology for at least one). Evaluate how this research has contributed to your ideas. 6. Analyse at three existing products for each medium you are producing looking at - Technical construction (media language) - Construction of representation - Genre conventions - Narrative (if appropriate) 7.Write a final treatment for all three products making clear how the products synergise to construct the brand of the show. 8.Produce detailed flat plans for the DVD cover, a magazine advert for the DVD and a shot

list for the music video. 9.Production Schedule for the campaign. 10.Call sheets/ Recce images for each production session. Remember this is the minimum planning/ evidence required if you wish do to more that is relevant to your work and using the technology available it will be credited. You will need to reflect on the production in your blog each week. Even when working in the holidays. You are commenting on key decisions and revisions using video and images where possible to back up your points.

Brief Number Two – Children’s Television Promotion Task You have been hired by SSP television to produce a pilot package for a new children’s TV drama. You have been contracted to create the opening 2 minutes of the show which must include a title sequence, a teaser advertisement, a DVD cover for the series and a magazine front cover for the series.

Deadlines 1. The initial treatment/ pitch deadline is Monday 29th June. 2. The initial pitch video/ feedback/ evaluation/glogster deadline for blog is 15th July. 3. The planning and research deadline is Wednesday 30th September 3.30 on the blog 4. The video shooting deadline is Monday 2nd November. 5. The interim edit deadline is Wednesday 11th November. 6. The final edit deadline is Friday 20th November. 7. The DVD Cover and the Magazine cover/ advert final print deadline is Friday 11th December 3.30 8. The audience feedback and analysis to be posted on the blog by Friday 18th December 3.30. 9. The evaluation should be posted on the blog on Friday 15th January.
