Name and topic. 3 Facts I have learnt. Do I have any questions? Ideas I copy for my presentation. General impression.

1- Oriol Oliva Batlle: Water. 2- There is a 97% of salty water and only a 3% of fresh water in the world. The reservoir in Sau has got a church and the level of water, last year, covered it, but now the level is very short and we can see all the building. The water cycle is cyclical and it’s very important. 3- The powerpoint 4- Good. 1- Iñaki Fernández and Bernardo Santos: Crimes in the USA 2- Russia is the most dangerous country in the world, but it happens because of political affairs. The USA is the second one, but it’s different than Russia. It’s caused by a difference of skin color and economy. Every year, a lot of people die because of this problem, and most of them are black people, because they tend to be poor. The cities in the center of the US are safer than the surrounding areas. 3- I have asked if they think that this situation is becoming worse or better. They say that it’s becoming worse, because rich people are becoming richer and poor ones, poorer. 4- The diagrams and the statistics. 5- OK. 1- Chanez Selloum: The Famine 2- There isn’t enough food and a lot of people die every day because of this lack. The famine is very serious in the south of Africa, in Asia and some places in Central America. The basic products for the population, like milk and eggs, have increased their prices and every day is more difficult to get food. One of the causes of this rise is the production of ethanol. There are some organizations helping and trying to solve this problem, like FAO or WFP (World Food Program), which is the biggest organization of the world and it’s part of the ONU. 4- I think that, in my presentation, I need to have a pronunciation as good as her. 5- Very good. 1- Elisenda Lladó and Laia Saló: Abandoned dogs. 2- The dog is the most abandoned animal, because a lot of people have got a dog. The most common reason to abandon the dogs is that people go on holidays and they want to take the dog with them, or they don’t know where to leave the animal. The other one can be the change of the behavior of the animal. It sometimes happens when a new baby arrives in the family. There are some possible solutions like to travel to places where dogs are accepted. People aren’t aware that this is a very serious action and it’s punished by the law. After that, the animal suffers a lot, it gets diseases and nobody wants to take care of him. 3- I’ve asked if there are any organizations here, in the zone where we live, and they have answered that there is one in Empuriabrava which helps and puts up dogs. 4- I think that the topic is very original. I also like the photos. 5- Very good.

1- Marina Sarquella: Natural disasters. 2- “Disasters occur when hazards meet vulnerability” is a traditional sentence. We can not fight with the nature. There are different types of natural disasters: land and movement disasters, water disasters, weather disasters, etc. They are more dangerous if they happen in poor areas, because the constructions are weaker. There is a natural disaster, the limnic eruption, which is very curious. It seems nice but it is very dangerous because it destroys all the life in the surrounding area of the lake where it happens. 4. I can take the diagram for my presentation: first of all there was a list of the disasters and, after that, she has explained each disaster. 5. It’s been a very good and interesting presentation. 1- Adrià Alfaro: Skinheads 2- It started in 1960 with the independence of Jamaica. They are people attracted by violence, drugs, etc. They have prejudices with immigrants. There are different types of skinheads. The Nazi skinheads adopted Hitler’s ideologies. SHARP means “SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice”. Most of them are punks. Skin girls are the most organized members of the group. Skinheads tend to wear a jacket reversible with two colors (black and orange). 4- I think that the emphasis how he told the things is good. 5- Good. 1- Neus Pagès and Marina Julià: Diseases 2- AIDS means Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and it’s transmitted through direct contact of the mucous membranes. Bulimia tends to affect women, but there are men with this disease. Some people eat a lot of antidepressives and water for loosing the hunger. 4- They have put some web pages in the presentation. I think that’s a very good Idea because you can look for more information if you like this topic. 5- Everything good. 1- Claudia Rossillo and Carles Torracabota: Drugs 2- Drugs became very popular in the 60s with the hippie movement. In the 90s the industry started making more complex drugs. It’s strange the reason why people consume drugs because they are very expensive. For example, one gram of heroine, the most addictive drug, costs about 65 euros. These substances kill you slowly. 4- The dialogue at the starting of the presentation has been very good because it was like in the real-life. 5- Very good.

1- Baldiri: Hooliganism 2- This behavior happens in sports and universities. The word comes from the surname of an Irish boy. Football hooliganism happens at the starting or at the end of the match. It’s very typical in the south of America. In Europe there are hooligans too, and each state has got one or more than one. 3- I’ve asked if he knows any hooligans, and he has answered that yes, that he knows two or three. 4- It’s useful to quote a film like him, “Green Street”. 5- Good. 1- Anna Genís and Miriam Falgàs: Poverty and patronage 2- The most affected people are young. There is a big difference between rich and poor people and patronage is one of the solutions. Bolivia, Peru and India are places where you can be a godfather paying a bit of money to the charities. Anna and Miriam are godfathers. 3- I’ve asked about the time when children become adults and they stop being godfathers. 4- They have scanned some letters from their children. 5- Very good. 1- Ariadna Comas: Animal mistreatness. 2- Poachers kill the animals to obtain money. A lot of animals like rabbits, dogs, cats, primates, etc. are killed for experimental intentions. Fights of dogs or cocks are very common, the animals are trained and closed in a ring, and they don’t stop fighting until one of them is exhausted or dies. There are some charities like PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). 4- She has put a video. 5- Very good.
