I can discuss how rules are made for different sports at the Olympics.

LI 3 WALH athletes prepare for and compete at the Olympics.

I can describe the demands that a major event place on an athlete and the way that athletes train it.

LI 4 WAL about the history of the Olympic Games and the role they play in the world.

I can describe how the Olympics began and how they affect the world today.

LI 5 WAL about the sports that are part of the Olympic Games.

I can list some of the events that are competed for at the Olympics.

1. Brainstorm of sports and other aspects. 2. Daily discussion through: - current events - class Olympic study 3. Reading of: - Olympic stories - Journal articles 4. Using: - newspapers - encyclopedias - CD ROM’s - on-line resources to research: - Olympic history - Olympic sports - one Olympic nation to complete: - class (buddy) research project. - individual presentation on an Olympic sport / nation. 5. Participation in the school Olympic ceremony and sports events.
