LYNN CLINE APPOINTED DEPUTY ASSOCIATE ADMINISTRATOR FOR EXTERNAL RELATIONS NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin has appointed Lynn F. H. Cline as the Deputy Associate Administrator for the Office of External Relations, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC, effective immediately. The Office of External Relations provides international policy formulation, coordination and implementation. Cline has been the Director of the Space Flight Division in the Office of External Relations since November 1993, where she was responsible for the policy and implementation of the international aspects of NASA's human space flight and life and microgravity sciences programs. In particular, she is the lead negotiator for the agreements with Canada, Europe, Japan and Russia for the International Space Station program. From June 1990 to November 1993 she was Deputy Director of International Relations, with responsibilities for support of the international component of NASA's programs worldwide. She held a series of International Relations Specialist and management positions in NASA's international office from September 1975 to June 1990. Cline received the NASA Exceptional Service Medal in March 1988 and again in 1993 and the Women in Aerospace International Space Year Award in September 1992. She is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the American Astronautical Society. Cline received her B.A. from East Carolina University in 1976. She received her M.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1979. -end-
