[email protected] RELEASE: 05-037 THREE NASA GLENN EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR SCIENCE ACCOMPLISHMENTS Science Spectrum magazine will present their 2005 Emerald Honors Award to three employees at NASA's Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, during the Minorities in Research Science conference awards ceremony and gala on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The Emerald Honors are the premier awards for Blacks, Hispanics, Asian Americans and Native Americans working in the research sciences. The Emerald Honors ceremony focuses on recognizing and promoting exceptionally talented minorities from a broad range of scientific fields. Among the top honorees are Glenn's: Dr. Isaiah Blankson, senior scientist in the Research and Technology Directorate will receive Scientist of the Year Award. Dr. John Foster, aerospace engineer in the Electric Propulsion Branch, will receive Most Promising Engineer Award. Dr. Jih-Fen Lei, deputy director of the Research and Technology Directorate, will receive a special recognition for her career achievements. The Minorities in Research Science conference runs from September 15 17, 2005. Conference events include career fairs, networking sessions, professional development, and training seminars and workshops. A Corporate Career Counseling Breakfast Roundtables, Top Minorities in Science Luncheon and the Top Hispanics in Technology Dinner are other highlights.
