October Book Report

Book Report – Due November 6th Paper: Write a diary that one of the story's main characters might have kept before, during, or after the book's events. Remember that the character's thoughts and feelings are very important in a diary. • This must be typed, two pages long, and double spaced. • Use specific events from the book. • Have fun. Rubric: Voice – 25pts – Did you emulate the character well? Ideas – 12pts – Do you include specific events from the story? Conventions – 12pts – Did you follow common writing conventions, especially the examples we covered on grammar days. Speech: Dramatize a scene from the book. Write a script and have several rehearsals before presenting it to the class. You can do this on an individual basis or in pairs. Rubric: Voice: 12pts – Was it uniquely the speaker? Did you portray the characters of the book well? Ideas: 12pts – Could the audience tell what actually happened in the story? Notes: 12pts – Are your notes legible and organized? Time constraints: 12pts -- Was your presentation more than three minutes, and less than five minutes? (If you plan on going longer, please consult me) Creative: Be Creative! #1: I must be able to understand that you’ve read the book. It is your job to prove it.
