I. Home Reading # 1 a. Title God Sees the Truth but Waits b. Author’s Profile Leo Tolstoy or Count Lev Nikolayevich Born : August 28, 1828 Died : November 20, 1910 Gender : Male Place of birth : Yasnaya Polyana, Russian Federation Genre : Literature & Fiction, Religion & Spirituality Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy Tolstoy, was a Russian writer – novelist, essayist, dramatist and philosopher – as well as pacifist Christian anarchist and educational reformer. He was the most influential member of the aristocratic Tolstoy family. As a fiction writer, Tolstoy is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all novelists, particularly noted for his masterpieces War and Peace and Anna Karenina. In their scope, breadth and realistic depiction of 19th-century Russian life, the two books stand at the peak of realist fiction c. Short Description of the Author > Tolstoy’s further talents as essayist, dramatist, and educational reformer made him the most influential member of the aristocratic Tolstoy family. His literal interpretation of the ethical teachings of Jesus, centering on the Sermon on the Mount, caused him in later life to become a fervent Christian anarchist and pacifist. His ideas on nonviolent resistance, expressed in such works as the Kingdom Within You, were to have a profound impact on such pivotal twentieth-century figures as Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr

III. Short summary of the story

In "God See The Truth But Waits", a man is imprisoned after he is wrongfully accused of murder. This is a emotional story of acceptance and forgiveness , acceptance of the failings of yourself and others and the strength to forgive even when understanding is beyond your grasp. All I could think about when I finished this story was something my late Aunt Cathy used to often say. "God always answers your prayers. It's just that sometimes the answer is 'no'."

V. Reaction My Reaction would be before you accused someone make sure that you won’t accuse a wrong person and always pray because God always answers your prayers. It’s just that sometimes the answer is ‘no’.”

V. Insights gain or learned The more one gives in to the thought of revenge, the more it consumes him. And if that goes uncheck, it can mean the death of whatever spark of nobility lies in the human person. The world, for all its cynicism, does recognize that spark when it is given a chance to break through the dark and negative elements that seem to always stifle and put it out. We have proof of that spark in the great men and women, sung and unsung, who graced this side of existence.

IV. Recommendation (if u r d author how will u end d story & why?)

I recommend everybody to read this short story. I learned a lot in this story about revenge and even if it’s just a short story you will learn a very important lesson . If I was the one who wrote this selection, I won’t change the ending. For me, the ending is the best part for me sad yet perfect. His death shows me that he will not suffer and he will be peaceful and happy in the side of God .
