October 2009 The Mylins on Home Assignment in the US… Presenting Sandratana Rarijason (right), who will begin serving the Montauban church this year with one long weekend visit per month. We are grateful to the church he presently serves for allowing him to take this time away to help the Montauban church. Sandratana will move with his family to Montauban in June 2010. He presently lives about five hours away in the Cévennes Mountain region. Mark had an essential role in the pastoral search as he worked with the church council, guiding them through steps to take and most of all, giving them a solid biblical basis from which they could make a good choice. In this picture, you can see Sandratana’s wife, Anne – second from the left, and his four daughters who range in age from 5 to 20.  Please be in prayer for Pastor Rarijason during this school year as he divides his time between his current church and visits to Montauban. Pray that God would give him strength, health and wisdom as he begins this new work.  Please continue in prayer for the Montauban church as they face the coming year without a fulltime pastor. Ask God to strengthen and unite church members during this time.

We’ve been living and serving in Southwest France for almost four years now. It has taken that long to begin to understand the mentality in this area, the history of the local churches and to begin relationships of trust with church members, neighbors and other acquaintances. Still in France a few Sundays ago, we were invited family birthday celebration for our neighbors’ 10 son, Hugo. (The picture shows a tree in Hugo’s back 400 year-old parasol pine which is classified as a monument!) We have spent a lot of time over the years chatting in our driveways, having “aperitifs”, care of each others cats and dogs. Being invited to a gathering is a real honor and a step forward in our relationship. I think Hugo liked the Mississippi plate we gave him. His father glued it to his door!

 Thank God for opening doors to speak with Hugo’s family about Jesus Christ. Pray that they would come to know and trust Him.

Beginning Home Assignment We arrived in the United States on September 7 and have been in a whirlwind ever since, buying cars, clothes, computers, visiting families and settling in to the Annapolis “mission house” where we will live for the next 12 months.
