A New Beginning
The time is finally here! We begin our life in Peru on Monday, October 26th. Please remember us in your prayers as we begin this journey.

Although it feels as if we are at the culmination of much hard work and planning, in truth we are just at the beginning! The artist Henri Matisse once said, “In the beginning you must subject yourself to the influence of nature. You must walk firmly on the ground before you start walking of a tightrope.” I think this is a nice quote to summarize what we will experience in the coming year. For those of you unfamiliar with our timeline, our first year will be devoted solely to learning language and culture. Without this valuable time, we would not truly be able to minister to the people of Peru. However, in watching my 7-monthold, I know that learning to walk
firmly on the ground is not an easy task! The next phase of our lives will be filled with the hardships of culture shock, frustrations with learning Spanish, and homesickness. It will also be filled with new friends, new experiences, and new traditions. At this point of our work, our excitement and passion is overflowing and we hope to hold onto these feelings as our work continues. Please pray for us, our teammates, and our family and friends back home as we all make this new adjustment together. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all who have supported us and helped to make this moment possible!
