No Impact to make a Big Impact October 2008
Vol. 6 # 10
A New Way to Welcome You Thanks to individual donations and help from Morton Building, Williams Construction, Bradley Concrete, Mike Brock and James Brown, we have a new way to welcome folks to Camp Agape. As you drive up the hill to enter the campus you are met with a beautiful view of Bean Mt. and our new Welcome Center. Although the interior and landscaping are not complete, visitors are already being greeted with an inviting, welcoming feel thanks to this addition. In the coming days and throughout the winter, we will be working to complete this addition to the camp. We appreciate all who have made donations so far and look forward to your future donations to help complete this enhancement to the ministry.
Timber to be Cut
Thank You
Sealed bids are being accepted until Nov. 1. They will be opened at a public meeting on campus that day. The goal of the timber cut is to improve the overall safety of the property.
We are grateful for the words of encouragement and support we received at the Annual Meeting. This ministry would not be possible without the support from our churches. If you are interested in having a copy of the video we showed, please let us know.
Due to all the repairs and improvements taking place around camp, the youth Impact weekend for this November is being canceled. This will permit the much needed work to be done and make a big impact on the ministry’s effectiveness for the Kingdom of God. Thank you for your understanding. We thank God for the opportunity to minister to four couples having wedding ceremonies at camp this year.
FUNDAY a Success We were honored to provide facilities for 28 children with cancer and their families during the annual FUNDAY for Candlelighters. Camp Agape thanks the FUNDAY committee for allowing us to be a part of this event. This special day just for cancer children and their families is a labor of love by numerous volunteers. On behalf of the FUNDAY committee, a special thank you goes out to all the volunteers and sponsors that make it all possible. You can find more information about this event and how you can be involved by going to www.funday.ws.
The Bottom Line: Pray! For Children with cancer and their families. Ask God for His protection for all workers as repairs and improvements are made. Ask God to help us get the right materials to “do the job right.” Help us seek discernment and clarity from God’s Spirit as we study and meditate on Scriptures to prepare Bible studies, Children’s Camp, discipleship opportunities and ways to be more effective in ministering to others in the future. Petition God as our Association seeks a new Director of Missions. Thank God for presence and power.
