SYOSSET, NEW YORK – OCTOBER 7, 2008 – Mr. Norman Brierley "Brie" Hall III, CCM, Manager of the Walpole Country Club in Walpole, Massachusetts has been named 2008 GLENLIVET® Club Manager of the Year for outstanding contribution to the industry. For 40 years, the award has recognized Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) Region I Club Managers for their excellence in the hospitality industry. The GLENLIVET® Club Manager of the Year Award is highly regarded by participating Club Managers who welcome the opportunity to nominate their peers for the honor. Candidates are submitted by members of five CMAA Chapters within Region I (New York City, Connecticut, New England, New Jersey, and Metropolitan) and the winner is selected by previous Club Manager of the Year recipients. Nominations are based on predefined qualifications including years of membership in both CMAA and their local chapter, service in local and national committees, service as an officer in their chapter, contributions made to the profession of Club Managers, and accomplishments as a professional Club Manager. Mr. Hall has been Manager of Walpole Country Club since November 2005, prior to that as Club Manager at Marshfield Country Club in Marshfield, MA (2003-2005), General Manager at Woodland Golf Club in Newton, MA (1988-2004), and General Manager at Wellesley Country Club in Wellesley, MA (1980-1988). Mr. Hall has been an active member since joining CMAA in February 1981 and was New England Chapter President in 1989, and has held all Chapter Officer positions with pride and dignity as well as serving as chairman of several New England Chapter and CMAA National committees. Throughout his many years of membership in CMAA, Mr. Hall has been worked very hard for the betterment of the Association, both Chapter and National level, and its members. His history of involvement shows his commitment to this organization and the hospitality industry. Since the late 1980's, Mr. Hall has almost always been involved with serving his fellow members in some capacity. This year's award ceremony will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the New York Athletic Club in New York City. The winner, Brie Hall, CCM, will receive a GLENLIVET® green sports jacket and a custom made plaque. Previous award winners will be on hand to welcome this year's honoree in their special jackets.
