PHILADELPHIA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL has conducted Food Festival 2018 (Dinner with Live Music) on 27th of November 2018 at Salur. PCH staff have sold 850 tickets and distributed 250 complimentary tickets within the local community and gave a warm welcome with dinner served hot for more than 1100 guests. There was a variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian food prepared of more than thirty items and the dinner was hosted at the Philadelphia Community Campus. They have also collected enough food articles in the form of donations for preparing the delicious items for the program through the community.

Through this Programme we brought the upper middle class families, government servants and local political leaders onto one platform and made them aware that we are in need of their help to raise funds for the sake of Leprosy affected people. The main title sponsor for the show was Queen’s NRI hospital and the other sponsors were LIC, Bajaj automobiles, State Bank of India, Honda Automobiles, Lion’s Club and Alpha Scan. The honourary guests were the local MLA, MRO and government officials . There was a wide coverage and exposure to the hospital by this fund raising event. The famous Music Director Mr K.S Chandrashekar entertained the guests with Live Music during which the fund raising was done by projecting the needs of the Hospital. There was a good response by the audience saying that there was never a show like this conducted in our Hospital and in Salur where in there were people from all walks of life under one roof with one goal, a goal to help people affected by leprosy. There were many who realized that Leprosy is still prevalent and needs support in the form of cash and kind. We look forward to conducting many more such fund raising events in the future with your encouragement.

WORD FOR THE MONTH CHECK THE SOIL OF YOUR HEART The sower soweth the word.15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:14-19 (KJV) 14

The seed of god never fails. If gods promises are not forthcoming we need to ask ourselves (what kind of soil am I). Are we a shallow person, are we rocky based person or lure of wealth or desire for clothes, cars, houses, engulf the word of god or we rich soil person. THINK ABOUT IT. AMEN.
