Muslims lagged behind not because of their adherence to islam but because of the abandonment. The only way to revive is through the carrying of the Islamic intellectual leadership. The dawah to day should be carried today as it was in the past (seerah) without the slightest deviation. The call should be centralized around “sovereignty belongs to Allah” The dawah carriers should not pay any attention to peoples customs and traditions when it contradicts Islam. The dawah carrier should challenge everything that contradicts Islam. Must connect acition with thought. Carrying the Islamic dawah when there is not caliphate should include the call for its re-establishment. Dawah should be relevant and vivid rwt correctionf concepts, strengthening the relationship with Allah(swt) and provide Islamic solutions.

Chapter 5 • Hadarah is the culture that a nation adheres to. • Madaniyyah is the material aspects of civilization • Important to discuss, so we are able to distinguish between what Islam allows to be adopted (whether eminating from Muslims or not). • If something is specific to a nation’s culture then Muslims are not allowed to adopt that “object” • If it is not specific to that hadarah then adoption is allowed. (e.g. science) Chapter 6 • Islam cam to organize the relationship between man and his creator, man and himself, man and others. • Spirit (ruh) can refer (in the texts) to Gibril (as), the sharia, or the secret to life. • This discussion is existent in the culture (thaqafah) of the muslims after their interaction with the hindu philosophers. • This topic centres around the notion of getting closer to Allah(swt) • Some concluded that because man is made up of matter and spirit, to attain closeness one needs to starve the material side and feed the spiritual side. • But in reality man is only composed of matter. • Closeness to Allah(swt) is to worship Him(swt) via obeying his commands. • No body says that animals are spiritual despite they having the “secret of life”. Thus secret of life is irrelevant to the discussion. • Therefore we mix spirit and matter which means to be conscious of our relationship with Allah(swt) in every act/breathe we do/take.
