ing for so long! You simply need to be consistent, determined to apply your newly-learned skills at least 3 minutes per day.

All these goals are achievable! You just need to begin learning a skill set that will readily bring them within your day-to-day experience – not just “learn” the skill (in your head), but learn it from within your entire bodymind -- experientially -- so it becomes second-nature to you.

Over recent months, I have shared articles with you, each of which teaches you an effective self healing tool. Those articles have described such practices as optimizing your breathing for optimal performance; rediscovering the “Self” who heals; rooting-out “un-healing” language; and sharedintentional -healing™. The only thing you need to do is to take just one of those skills, and begin applying it for 3 minutes a day.

I’ve been coaching people with chronic illness (including myself) for over 2 decades: To a person, those who have consistently applied the self healing tools learned in our coaching sessions, have benefitted in precisely the ways outlined above – more energy, less fatigue, less intense pain, uplift in mood, even fewer medication side effects – and, often (in concert with their primary care provider) fewer medications. You can (and will) too! What we develop together is a praxis (i.e., a skilled application, an established practice): It is a skill-set that can and will set you on the path to the health and wellness benefits you desire, and have been seek-

As you put in the daily activity, you will indeed begin to experience positive results; but you do need to follow this simple plan.

Then, to begin experiencing meaningful health and wellness benefits, you gently allow yourself time to learn the skill experientially within. This occurs over a period of about 27 days. Since NASA studies of astronauts in the 1960’s, it has been repeatedly shown that skilled ability occurs through consistent repetition -- and is lost if that pattern is broken – requiring you to re-start the learning cycle from day one. So, in short, the fastest

way to learn is to practice consistently, every day, over days – preferably, 27 days. And it is easy really, because you have proven yourself so good at this type of skill acquisition since infancy! It’s the same thing you did when you learned to walk . . . to talk! You played-with the skill a bit each day, day in and day out; and the bodymind automatically took care of making those neural connections for you, as if by magic! I instruct you now to “play with” your Self Healing skill development! Remember, this is not a race. As you are gentle with yourself, applying the skill becomes easier and easier within the first few days; more automatic: Soon you do begin to notice subtle, but powerful benefits. One way you will know things are percolating within is that you begin to truly want to do the activity each day: In fact, you may notice the inclination to perform your new-found skill multiple times each day. Expect it. In the process (just like when you learned to walk and run, ride a bike, swim or read),

you once again entrust your Self to learn naturally. Indeed, trustingSelf becomes a key self healing benefit in and of itself! There are 5 really good reasons why you don't need a coach. 1. If you have accomplished everything your heart desires - YOU MIGHT NOT NEED A COACH.

Obviously, this is all tongue-in-cheek, but I invite you to Self-reflect on each of the above. Here, however, I address a few flu vaccine basics for 2009-2010. First, understand all the

talk is about distinct flu virus types and sub-types. There are multiple influenza “types” that undergo genetic changes from yearto-year and even within the same season (a phenomenon called “drift”). Flu vaccines are made up of combinations of inactivated viruses pre-selected months before flu season hits. The goal is to best match the vaccine types to

the seasonal virus expected to arise. The better the match is between the actual influenza virus that occurs and those chosen for the vaccine, then the more effective the vaccine. Such a vaccine has been prepared for this annual or seasonal flu (typical of late fall and early winter months). The vaccine for this “seasonal” flu (again, a combination of inactivated

viruses) is currently directed toward the types H3N2, Influenza A (also called H1N1, but not the sub-type associated with the pandemic 2009 H1N1) and influenza B. As noted, because of “drift”, the CDC cannot guarantee the effectiveness of the vaccine until flu season actually hits.

Flu Vaccines 101 contd. In addition, this 2009-2010 flu season, the WHO and the CDC are alerting folks about an influenza A subtype known as the 2009 H1N1 pandemic – or more commonly, the “swine” flu. The seasonal vaccine described above will not protect against the 2009 H1N1 (swine) flu virus: In fact, a separate swine flu vaccine has been developed. As the CDC re-

ports “many people do not have immune protection against this new and very different 2009 H1N1 virus, which has spread worldwide quickly and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).” Thus, if you decide to receive vaccination, you will need to consider receiving both

separate vaccines to be best covered for the upcoming season. Please realize that public health data on influenza (as reported by the CDC) suggests that more than 200,000 folks in the US are hospitalized annually with flu diagnoses; and as many as 36,000 die from complications related to the illness.

Worldwide statistics are even more daunting, indicating the gravity of both this seasonal flu and the 2009 H1N1 flu. Weigh your decision with the above in mind. My recommendation follows in the article below. ©2009byMFDayton,LPC,Cht All rights reserved worldwide

In spite of the flu basics above, there are a number of well-intentioned natural health advisors who strongly recommend against vaccination (of any kind) for a number of reasons, ranging from the source (viruses grown in eggs) to vaccines themselves considered as the source of influenza (e.g., http://tinyurl.com/ydtrbcj).
