Roll-Up Serranda has opened a new branch in KwaZulu-Natal, based in Pinetown. Newly appointed branch manager, Rob Chivers, is a familiar face to both Trellicorians as well as customers as he handled much of Trellidor‟s commercial work while Trellidor franchise manager. “I‟m finding a lot of synergies out there as many of the RUS clients also purchase Trellidors, depending on their requirements,” said Rob. Another familiar face is that of Barry Tatton, RUS sales consultant. Barry previously ran a Durban Branch of RUS before moving to Autogate Access Control Systems, here in Pinetown. Also on the enthusiastic new sales team is Alastair Andrew who has vast experience with security products as he was previously with Maxidor, doing both their sliding range of barriers and their more domestic orientated range of Roller Shutters. Bridgette Wilkinson, who use to run Trellidor‟s reception area and switchboard is now the well-known voice at the other end of RUS KZN‟s telephone. Bridgette has administrative as well as reception duties at RUS‟ Pinetown offices.

Kevin Bonner, Roll-Up Serranda’s sales & marketing executive, recently completed a cycle ride from Jo‟burg to Bloemfontein with a team of 10 fellow Round Tablers to raise funds for charity. Each participant paid his own way and had to raise his own sponsorship to contribute to this fundraiser for the selected charities. “We are supporting Kwa Molepo School, the „Just One Child‟ Housing project and
the annual „White Christmas‟ where we cater for about 1000 kids from very troubled backgrounds,” explained Kevin. The exact amount raised is still being tallied, but will in the region of R40 000. The Trellicor Group sponsored a set of riding kit for each participant, with all three of our companies‟ logos highly visible to all passers-by and interested residents at stops along the way.

Coroma Knysna recently became sponsors of the Knysna Men's Hockey XI, keeping the brand highly visible throughout the season. Said franchise owner Brian Elliott: “The team has 5 players in the South Western Country Districts side and has started the season off with a bang, which is very positive for us. They‟ve played and won six matches to date, scoring 40 goals with only 6 against them.” His son Bryn Elliott is the team‟s player/coach. Bryn is also an integral part of Brian‟s Trellicor franchise. Trellidor staff showed wonderful support for the Sunflower Fund’s “Rope of Hope” fundraiser by purchasing 50 bandanas and knotting them together in a rope, joining many others that were wrapped around East Coast Radio House in Umhlanga Rocks. “It was a fun campaign and our staff really enjoyed getting involved, especially since the funds go to such a worthy cause,” said Charlene Botha, Trellicor Group brand and public relations manager. The Sunflower Fund was established to help expand the South African bone Marrow Registry to at least 100 000 donors across all ethnic groups. The chance of finding a matching donor for those ill with leukaemia and other life threatening blood disorders is 1:100 000. About 75% of patients do not have a suitable match within the family and have to search for a non-related donor if they are to have any chance of survival. The larger the bone marrow registry, the faster and greater one‟s chances of finding a match, particularly in a country such as South Africa with so many different ethnic groups.
To become a bone marrow donor, call The Sunflower Fund toll free number 0800 12 10 82 weekdays 9am-1pm or 2pm-4pm to find out if you meet the criteria.

Have you ordered Access Guard for your showroom yet? Those who have are seeing good sales. In the picture to the left, Alvin Marshall has used Access Guard to partition off his carousel stand very effectively, while still using it as a sales tool. “We‟re using it in front of our stores area so that we can keep our roller shutter open during the day as well as to show customers how versatile the product is. We‟ve sold Access Guards to Pick „n Pay to close off liquor aisles on Sundays, to OR Tambo airport to shut off the restaurants after hours, to retail outlets that use them to show people where to queue & to shopping malls that want to safety close off areas where Pretoria branch manager Alvin Marshall recently revamped his carousel stand, used in shopping centres to great effect. When manned by staff that know our products well, the professionallooking stand becomes a wonderful source of good leads.
