On Saturday, February 28, we enjoyed a social event hosted by Rick and Doris Davis and John and Pam Shannon at the Davis’ lovely home. Wonderful homemade appetizers and baked goodies along with delicious wines and soft drinks made the afternoon most enjoyable. The purpose of the gathering was twofold: 1) to enjoy the good company of our fellow Rotarians and 2) to honor our clubs’ past presidents.
Each Past President in attendance was given the floor for an impromptu speech about the most memorable events of their presidency. Regina Reynolds, who is a Past President from the Apr. 15: District Tennis Tournament Apr. 17-19: District Celebration
Rotary Club of Keane, New Hampshire started off the orations with a memory of an exchange person from Africa who defected to the U.S. while on her Rotary visit. We then heard of the highlights of the last 40+ years with stories from Dick Garland (1966-67), Marv Bamburg (73-74), Jerry Scott (74-75), Bill Ellington (86-87), Phil Nielsen (93-94), Jerry Cummings (94-95, 07-08), Paul Bacosa (96-97), and Kit Whitney (04-05). Ask Marv about sitting on ice or Bill Ellington about the location of the RI Convention to relive some of the highlights.
