AN INTRODUCTION TO THE HORSE

Date: February 2 to April 1 Time: 3:45-4:45 pm Location: Delburne Centralized School, Bowden Grandview School, Sundre High School & Olds Bell e-Learning Centre

Basic introduction to the horse as an evolving mammal, and as a tool for man upon domestication. Basic equine identification, terminology, behaviors, external and internal anatomy descriptions and horse breeds are examined. Safe horse ground handling techniques, stable management, nutrition, reproduction, and grooming will be covered in theory and in a hands-on lab setting. Instructed by Olds College staff and students in equine science programs.
