BMJ Weekly Newsletter Head Teacher: Mrs Marie Hill Deputy Head: Mr Mark Bennett Welcome to this week’s edition of the Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter Our School Values Politeness, Fairness, Friendship, Trustworthiness, Happiness, Pride, Respect, Determination, Courage, Honesty, Teamwork and Cooperation. Our values are important because they help us to grow and develop. They help us to create the future we want to experience. Parent Consultation Week Thank you to everyone who supported their child’s learning by attending a Parent Consultation appointment this week. If you were unable to make one of the appointment times please speak to your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative appointment. Please be aware that if you would like to speak to staff then an appointment has to be made.
Tag Rugby Fixture Night This week the Tag Rugby U9’s played Canklow Woods at home. Brinsworth Manor won 12-6. Well done to everyone who took part. Next week the Under 9s play Brinsworth Howarth away. Easter Competition As we had a very successful bake off during world book day we would like to do the same for our Easter competition. Please send in cakes or buns with an Easter or Spring theme. The most imaginative or creative design will win a prize. Please send the cakes or buns in Tuesday 9th April. There will be a cake sale after school on the same day – thank you!! Breakfast Club We hope that the children are enjoying their morning bagel slice. Unfortunately we can only offer bagels to our Junior children as we only have funding for our children. Please let school know by calling the office as soon as possible if you are interested in the new Breakfast Club. Flu vaccination Programme IntraHealth has thanked our parents and school team for participating in this year’s nasal flu immunisation programme. Our school’s input contributed to a very successful flu programme and is pace! helping to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our community. Overall the vaccination coverage for Rotherham Schools is 65%. Brinsworth Manor had an uptake of 62.16%. The advice from NHS England is that heard immunity, a form of indirect protection from infectious disease when a percentage of the population receives the vaccination, is reached at 40% uptake. This means that our school reached heard immunity level this flu season.
Newsletter: 29th March 2019 Issue Number: 24 Attendance
Just a reminder that our annual school target from the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of every half term you will receive an attendance letter. These are to either congratulate pupils and parents or to remind parents of attendance figures and that the Education Welfare Officer is available for support if needed. We always offer support to ensure that you have all resources available to you. Please contact school if you do not understand the information in the letter. We will soon be awarding all children with excellent attendance! Uniform Reminder – the uniform applies to all pupils in school and the majority of our pupils and families adhere to this policy. However, we are currently aware that blue jeans and different coloured shoes are being worn by some pupils. The uniform was voted in by parents and governors – please help to keep our school smart. We will send reminders home to address the matter. If you have an issue with this then please speak to Mrs Hill.
