BMJ Weekly Newsletter Newsletter: 22nd March 2019 Issue Number: 23

Head Teacher: Mrs Marie Hill Deputy Head: Mr Mark Bennett Welcome to this week’s edition of the Brinsworth Manor Junior School Newsletter Our School Values Politeness, Fairness, Friendship, Trustworthiness, Happiness, Pride, Respect, Determination, Courage, Honesty, Teamwork and Cooperation. Our values are important because they help us to grow and develop. They help us to create the future we want to experience. Parent Consultation Week

Monday 25th – Thursday 28th March is Parent consultation week. Appointments are now closed via the online booking system. If you have not booked an appointment please see your child’s teacher for any available appointment times. Please note Dolphin Class Parent appointments are during the day on Monday 25th March, due to the teacher’s working week. Tag Rugby Fixture Night This week the Tag Rugby U11’s played Whiston Worrygoose away. Despite our best efforts Whiston won 6-4. Well done to everyone who took part. Next week the Under 9s play Canklow Woods at home. Easter Competition As we had a very successful bake off during world book day we would like to do the same for our Easter competition. Please send in cakes or buns with an Easter or Spring theme. The most imaginative or creative design will win a prize. Breakfast Club We hope that the children are enjoying their morning bagel slice. Unfortunately we can only offer bagels to our Junior children as we only have funding for our children. Please let school know by calling the office as soon as possible if you are interested in the new Breakfast Club. Behaviour on the Playground Would all parents please ensure that they supervise their children at the end of the day whilst waiting for the Junior children to leave school (3pm-3.15pm). This week school pace! equipment has been damaged and infant children have been climbing trees. As someone could get hurt, could we please ask for your support in reporting these matters to school. In addition, our children are learning until 3.15pm, please do not knock on windows or doors as this distracts the class and interrupts your child’s learning. Once again we very much appreciate those parents who are always supporting us!

Attendance

Just a reminder that our annual school target from the local authority is 96.5% and at the end of every half term you will receive an attendance letter. These are to either congratulate pupils and parents or to remind parents of attendance figures and that the Education Welfare Officer is available for support if needed. We always offer support to ensure that you have all resources available to you. Please contact school if you do not understand the information in the letter. We will soon be awarding all children with excellent attendance!       
