Case Study: A National Technology Designer - IP Telephony Network Dynamics is able to deliver support for all IP Telephony and IP Communications technologies. For example, this technology solutions designer needed to upgrade the performance of their core network and simultaneously wanted to take advantage of the features and management capabilities of IP Telephony. NDI’s consultants recommended a phased approach to first incorporate a Cisco Systems LAN /WAN infrastructure required to support the IPT solution into their network, followed by deployment of the Cisco IP Telephony components. Several key Cisco product solutions were deployed including the Cisco 7900 Series IP Phones, Cisco Unity for messaging, Cisco Call Manager for call processing and Cisco MeetingPlace for conference management. The customer now enjoys improved quality of service, increased security, significant cost savings and enhanced customer satisfaction with a powerful, feature-rich IP Communications network system.
Case Study: An Institute of Higher Education - Wireless LAN This regional university initially needed Network Dynamics to create a wireless network for two main campus buildings separated by a major thoroughfare. However, with the recent growth experienced by the school, the need arose to implement a wireless LAN network for students and faculty to utilize on a campus-wide basis. Using Cisco Systems Aironet 1200 Series Access Points for LAN connectivity and Cisco Aironet 350 Series Wireless Bridges for point-to-point campus access, NDI populated the wireless network for all of the common areas where students and faculty needed to meet and remain connected. This included all lobby areas of academic buildings, libraries, sports facilities, board rooms and meeting halls. Cisco SMARTnet rounded out the program with NDI’s local engineering staff providing 24x365 onsite support. The wireless network has given the university’s students and faculty the operational convenience and accessibility needed to help these users function more efficiently.
Case Study: A Major Equipment Retailer - VPN Security This nationwide equipment retailer needed to ensure the security of the frame relay network traffic flowing between their central data center out to their branch locations and home users. They also needed to put a stable and reliable firewall platform in place to protect the security of their customer oriented, web-based transactions, such as order placement and inquiries related to product availability. Network Dynamics recommended and implemented a high performance, security solution including Cisco PIX 535 Security Appliances and Cisco VPN 3030 Concentrators to satisfy the customer’s requirements. These products were installed at both the main data center and the backup data center for redundancy. NDI also provides onsite maintenance and remote management support for the customer’s entire security infrastructure. This high performance solution now gives the customer a stable and dependable network on which to conduct their business, as well as a secure path for their network traffic.
Case Study: A Global Travel Consultant - Technology Refresh This global travel consultant was looking for a single point of contact support provider for their router network technology refresh at more than 400 sites in the United States. With their own resources stretched to capacity, they needed a partner who could seemlessly handle the logistics of performing this complex upgrade at all of their locations. Through a cooperative effort with Cisco Systems, Network Dynamics was able to provide a cost-effective and flexible technology refresh plan that included the Cisco Catalyst 8500 Series Multiservice Switch Routers, as well as the Cisco 1841, 2821 and 3845 Integrated Services Routers all with security enabled functionality. Cisco SMARTnet and NDI nationwide onsite support were also included to ensure maximum protection of the customer’s network. Benefits to the customer include increased network efficiency, reduction in operating costs and improved employee productivity. The customer has been so pleased with the refresh that they are exploring several new initiatives with Network Dynamics and Cisco including voice, wireless and storage opportunities.
