Native American Comparison/Contrast Paper Grading Rubric QUALITY OF INFORMATION 4: Paper accurately depicts the distinctive cultural elements of two regions. 3: Paper gets most cultural details right about the regions studied. 2: Paper completely confuses the major traits of the regions studied. COMMENTS: FORMAT 4: Paper follows four-paragraph format described in the handout & checklist. 3: Passage is quoted accurately. 2: Passage is not quoted accurately. COMMENTS: EVIDENCE 4: Theory is well supported by evidence. 3: Theory is moderately supported by evidence. 2: No supporting evidence is offered. COMMENTS: CONVENTIONS 4: Mostly follows the conventions of good writing (grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure). 3: Sometimes follows the conventions of good writing. 2: Writing errors get in the way of intended meaning. COMMENTS: CITATION OF SOURCES 4: Paper includes a sources cited page and some information in the paper includes citations on where the material originates. 3: Paper includes the above, but some sources are improperly cited. 2: Paper gives no clue about where the information came from.
