My Philosophy By: Ivan M Borja No man can reveal to you aught but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of our knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness. If he is indeed wise he does not bid you enter the house of wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. Gibran Jalil Gibran
My own values are what motivate me to achieve excellence in both, my professional and my personal life. I feel a special passion for academe. Teaching, Research and Service are the fundamental of my life. I deeply believe in Teaching as my better contribution to society, then to life. Sharing experiences, giving advice and learning from my students have been the most powerful fuel in my life. They (the students) represent a new generation with new ideas and anxious for building a better world everyday. Research allows me to contribute to knowledge. It will be my legacy to humanity in its search for liberty and true. Service remembers me how human I am and how I can contribute to society. Through Service I have learned to be more human, understanding, tolerant and humble. Teaching, Research and Service become the essentials of my “life experience” and I deeply believe I can be a better scholar through them.
