Anna Murray Loftus-2(Luke Murray-1) was born on 1847 in Highmarket, Lewis County, NY. She died on 1891[5]. She married Patrick N. Loftus on Abt. 1872, son of Patrick Loftus Sr. and Mary E. Neary Loftus. He was born on 10 Aug 1840 in Quebec, Canada[7]. He died on 22 Feb 1929 in Bayside, Long Island, NY[11, 12]. Notes for Patrick N. Loftus: Patrick came to the United States at a young age and took up farming. He settled in Highmarket, NY in Lewis County. He later went to Utica and took up carpentry. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, Utica, NY. He died at the home of his sister, Atlilia Cavanaugh in Bayside, Long Island. Patrick's funeral was held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. James M. Collins on Millgate Street. Children of Anna Murray Loftus and Patrick N. Loftus are:

Notes for John Loftus: John was born and educated in Highmarket, Lewis County and lived in Rome before coming to Utica. He had been employed for many years by the McLoughlin Brothers Coal Company and later by the Griffiss Air Force Base. At the time of his retirement he was employed in the maintenance department of the Masonic home. He was a member of St. Peter's Church and its Holy Name Society. He lived at 423 Trenton Road and the time of his death. John was listed as working in the foundry in the 1910 Census.

Descendants of Luke Murray Generation 2 (con't) dead in the hallway of th house of Timothy Kehoe at 19 Buffalo St. in Utica,NY. The story indicated that he had lost the use of his legs when he was quite young because of an attack of spinal meningitis. Death was caused by a heart attack. He was a member of St. Agnes Church.

His occupation was an iron moulder but previous to his late illness he was employed in the New York Central freight house.

Since the death of Mrs. Murray, three years ago, he has made his home with his daughter who tenderly dared for him during his illness. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Charles Lyman and John Murray, Port Leyden, James and Bernard Murray, New York, Mrs. Martin Dwyer, Cincinnati, Ohio. Two brothers also survive, James Murray of Boonville and Luke Murray of Utica. The funeral was held Thursday beginning from St. Martin's Church. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family. Birth and death information taken from gravestone at Calvary Cemetery, Port Leyden, NY 1875 Census said his occupation was a laborer. Death certificate #71167. John lived in Port Leyden for 25 years. Notes for Catherine Loftus Murray: Aunt Ruth had her birth as March 23, 1849. Catherine's death certificate said she died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Obituary - taken from the Boonville Herald Port Leyden People Mourn Demise of an Estimable Woman A beautiful Christian life came to an end Saturday, when the angel of death called Mrs. John Murray of Port Leyden to her heavenly father. Mrs Murray had been in ailing health for the past year and during that time was tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Charles Lyman and granddaughter, Miss Ruth Lyman. During the summer her condition became gradually worse and although the end was looked for at any time her death came as a great sorrow to the family to whom she had ever been such a devoted wife and loving tender mother. Not only will Mrs. Murray be missed by her own family but her death will be mourned by every one who knew her as a woman of "many deeds, but few words", ever ready to lend a helping hand or a word of cheer and a smiling face in time of others sorrows and needs. Mrs. Murray was a devout Catholic and a devoted member of St. Martin's Church since her first residence in Port Leyden. Mrs. Catharine Loftus Murray, daughter of Mary and Patrick Loftus was born in Canada in 1849. in early youth she moved to Port Leyden and in l869 she became the wife of John Murray, who survives. Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Augustus, and John Murray Jr. of Port Leyden; Bernard of Wilkesbarre, Pa., James of Ne York and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Lyman of Port Leyden and Mrs. Martin Dwyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; also two sisters, Mrs. Margaret McGoldrich of Scranton, Pa., and Mrs. Attila Cavanaugh of New York City. The funeral was held from St. Martin's Church Wednesday morning, Rev. Father Dean officiating. Interment was made in St. Martin's cemetery. Besides the immediate family those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Collins, Utica; Mr. and Mrs. Luke Murray, Lowville; James Murray, Boonville; Mrs. Anna Gollegly, Mrs. Nellie Lyman,, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Dolan, Ilion; Miss Sadie Dolan, Utica.
